Having signed another 2 players today, Karanka is only one short of having signed a complete team, and to be honest the majority of the signings are quality. The only drawback facing AK is the number of loaners allowed in a match day squad, but he obviously knows this. The midfield will certainly have a lot more bite about it, thus giving much more protection to our beleaguered defence. I can’t wait to see the starting line up, though I have no idea what it will be, but guarantee the whole match day squad will have something to prove, my only slight concern is where the goals will come from as I doubt Murphy has finished his sulk yet, and much as I like B.B., he won’t score enough goals, hopefully Dowell may chip. Once again the opening goal will be massive, fingers crossed we will get it. I actually fancy us to win this one.
Why do ya say Murphy is sulking? I’d have just assumed he was getting too old and rickety to have much effect in today’s championship 👍🏼
I thought that he had a rib injury picked up on international duty, that he exacerbated in his next match for us? If he was shirking I'm sure that Karanka would have shown him the door ala Traore!
The lads who joined this week will probably not feature
Pants
Lichaj Mancienne Worrall Fox
Colback
Lolley gueddy Dowell Osborn
Brereton
Would be my guess
It will be interesting to see if AK picks Bridcutt. I would. I had my doubts about him to begin with but he has improved a lot through playing games and he was badly missed against PNE and in the cup tie.
I also think Murphy will start. AK prefers experience over youth.
I'm glad Adkins didn't get the sack this week; probably come next week after we beat them.
Not sure Murphy is match ready, or I would pick him also
Murphy has been training since Tuesday, so should be able to start even if he doesn't have 90 minutes in him.
I think it is a bit harsh to accuse Murphy of sulking. He was clearly injured against Sunderland and, as with most of us old gits, it takes time to recover!
I would like to see Murphy start. I want Brereton to develop but the goal difference isn’t looking too healthy. I can see the team tightening up with all of the new midfield and defensive signings but concerned as to where the goals are coming from for Forest at the moment.
Tomlin could be the key. He doesn’t look the fittest but Karanka seems to have faith in him so hopefully that’ll prove enough motivation. He is playing for his next permanent move as Colin is unlikely to have him back. Whether that is to the CG, or elsewhere, he definitely has something to prove.
Watson will start. He has played reasonably regularly at Watford so will be match fit. Karanka pursued him relentlessly and I see him taking the captain’s armband from Mancienne. Teams won’t be able to cope with a midfield with such gingerness!
We have an abundance of CMs and not enough CBs.
Hard to predict the line up, but maybe
——————Pants
Lichaj Worrall Mancienne Colback
————Bridcutt Geddy
—— Dowell Tomlin Osborn
————-—-Murphy
Fox can’t continue at LB. Watson maybe won’t be out straight back in. Bridcutt deserves his place back and Vaughan perhaps doesn’t at the moment. Cash has done well but we need to try and fit Dowell and Tomlin into line up. Not sure where Lolly will play but we need Osborn’s energy.
I doubt that will be line up though. Fully expect Fox this start. Probably Cash too. Who knows
I think Fox should and will start at LB; he is the only fit LB available until next week. I think Figueiredo will start but not sure who makes way for him. Watson will start in place of Cash and maybe Tomlin for Dowell.
My guess at AK's team:
Pants
Lichaj Worrall Figueiredo Fox
Colback Pep
Watson Tomlin Osborn
Murf
Be surprised if I have more than five right
So many different combinations it’s easier predicting the lottery
Can’t help feeling the next 5 games are really important so fingers crossed a winning mixture can be found as quickly as possible
I don’t think Karanka will try and change too much too soon. He puts himself at risk of a McClaren-style meltdown if he did.

I don’t think Watson will play RW. He’s more of a holding mid, playmaker type. He’ll be battling it out with Bridcutt and Colback I think
Pants
Lichaj Worrall Mancienne Colback
Guedioura Watson
Cash Dowell Osborn
Murphy
Smith, Figures, Bridcutt, Lolley, Tomlin, Brereton, Vellios
Degajah, Fuentes and Kapino to miss out. Along with Fox, Darikwa, Bouch, Vaughan and McKay,
I also feel positive about this one!
If I forecast a win, that invariably puts the kiss of death on the game!
I hope Pantilimon has a good game otherwise that nickname ain't gonna look so good!
The website [Forest] editor is slacking the three latest additions haven't been added.
I would be surprised if Watson either starts, or comes off the bench. Will there be changes at fullback?
I seem to remember that Hull have a tricky wide winger who also cuts in for a strike on goal.
Jarrod Bowen is the one to watch.
Bowen has been their best player in both matches against them this season. Third time lucky they will realise this and get hold of him.
Rain and cold in Notts today. Which of the players are going to be soft and wear gloves today, though?...
