I do to be honest True.
The biggest compliment to them is that they always seem focussed on the long term stability and structure of our club, investing at every level.
They are not using our club as a play thing or a money spinner, they are serious business people and Big football fans.
They have made mistakes, but few. Under their ownership we’ve gone from a struggling championship team to premier league champions and capable of challenging the top 7.
All whilst respecting the history and heritage of our club.
What’s not to like!
They are incredible. They are also as stubborn and principled as me. Got to love that.
You're keeping an unhappy player who refuses to play for you when you could get upwards of seventy million to reinvest into your squad.
You['ll just lose him on a free eventually anyway, or his price will start to decrease. Should have cashed in.

I don't think that's the point here...
Basically, we won't be bent over backwards and take it up the rear-end because "Mr Big Club" and pundits alike say so.
It's about time they didn't get it all their own way. Just imagine what the likes of Southampton could have achieved over the years if they had a bit more muscle..
Very little, I would imagine.
Player power your on dangerous territory there TB ask Claudio? or even Shakey about player power and its effects on the owners.

So you're in the know of what goes on inside the club?
Mahrez has been wanting out for some time, and see no reason to disbelieve his side of events.
Different time, different world.
Can you buy shares at he same price as six months ago when the stock markets gone up massively in valuation.
Nobody wanted him at £50 million, that window went, now he’s worth more so someone wanting him has to pay more.
In two years time he will be worth nothing.
It's highly likely that he would have gone for £50 million in the summer if a bid that high would have come in. So yes, I can imagine that being agreed. But it didn't. Now is different
why not let him leave though when other players have been allowed to leave, can see why he'd be narked...he needs a word with his agent, should have had a release clause inserted...does he come back in to your team? will he even bother playing to his level? I like the principle of sticking to your guns but that £70m or £60m plus a player could have added genuine depth
Other players had release clauses, he signed a lucrative contract without one, that’s why.
so you'd rather keep an unhappy player that has refused to train than cash in?
So you have a very unhappy player in your team, liken it to Sanchez at Arsenal, never got away last summer and his form dropped, not a good dressing room it's all similar, like it or not players have all the power.
other thing is, he doesn't bother to play his usual game his value will drop

Mahrez is the other way, he has to play better to garner interest from other Clubs.
If he coasts he’ll be staying here longer than the Summer.
A point most people must understand as well isn’t that he doesn’t want to play for us, he just wants a move to a ‘Bigger’ Club, big difference to being unhappy at a Club which he wasn’t.
Question is whether that has now changed but he still can’t get away from having to play out of his skin to get a big money move.

I assume what you're saying in the first two lines is that if he doesn't play well no big club will come in for him?
I really doubt that's true. Mahrez's talent isn't exactly a secret and 3 months of downing tools won't change that. Perhaps his chance to play for City is gone but there's be plenty of other suitors.
The only way he'd stay is if Leicester keep rejecting offers. If that's the case you'll have an unhappy player with a decreasing value. As a Liverpool fan we went through the same with Coutinho, just the way it is sometimes.
And how much did you get for Couninho?
The point is Mahrez has had great form and despite media speculation, NO Club has put any kind of decent offer in, they're even less likely to now unless he shows sparkling form again which he showed in the run up to this window ( coincidence, I think not ) yet there were still no takers.
I'm overwhelmed at the huge concern for our clubs well being from fellow supporters, worried that we may lose Mahrez for nothing. bless em

A huge amount of money. But then again, Barca had 200m from Neymar so if they wanted their man...
I sincerely doubt nobody is enquiring about Mahrez so if clubs aren't matching your valuation (/are being scared off) then you're back to the unhappy player and dwindling value situation. I guess it's that old argument that players are worth what someone is prepared to pay.
It's a frustrating situation but unless you happen to be Real Madrid, it's a situation every clubs finds themselves in sooner or later.

I don't really see it as being a problem though, he's contracted to play for us, I expect he'll be a bit hit and miss for a while then pick up again closer to the next window.
The thing is sometimes a hit and miss Mahrez is better than some of our other options <Laugh> but then that's a DOF issue not bringing in quality players.

Fair enough mate. Keeping a player of his quality is never a problem as long as they still put the performances in. Coutinho did between summer and January, no complaints. I think arsenal fans would argue Sanchez was a millstone as much as anything. It can go either way.
Best of luck against City
