Not a huge boxing fan but always keen for a big fight. They left everything out in the ring it seemed. Great fight 👍🏻

Naz was best thing about that fight, hope they get him back for the final.

Felt a bit sad for Eubank Jr, good scrapper but not elite boxer like BJS and GG have shown. Needs a proper coach and to move back to middleweight probably.

Groves 9/2 on points does look huge

I don’t even think Groves was at his best, but he was a level above Eubank Jr.

Heart, toughness and workrate will only take you so far in boxing, those alone don’t make an elite boxer. What was his game plan exactly? Didn’t try to set anything up with the jab so resorted to swinging and hoping for the best? Some of those hooks he threw almost hit me and I was 200 miles away in London ffs.

Rios has been shot for a while, he is literally a punch bag and it was a good way for Garcia to show that he is still relevant.

Garcia vs Porter would be a great fight.

Is he even world level? Against flat footed guys he looks good but anyone that can box will give him nightmares.

If I were Jr, these would be my next steps:

Take some time off to reassess
Get in a trainer that he is willing to learn from
Add a tactical element to his style
Get back down to middleweight where his speed and conditioning are enhanced
Take a few easy fights
Plan a route to a world title

I’ve heard that a lot of his self-belief and hype comes from sparring. Apparently he takes it super seriously and gives it his absolute maximum, so if he ‘wins’ the sparring he’ll go and brag about it.

That tale about he and Degale sparring a few years ago seems to stem from Eubank Jr going there to try and do a number on him so Degale’s team told him to step it up which resulted in him hurting Jr several times. Snr put an end to it and then got him to start practicing his ring entrance, so Degale kicked him out of the gym
