I disagree, I think the Joyce fight would bring plenty of reward as it's a fight people would love to see and would pay money for. Everyone has been talking about Joyce smashing up Parker, certainly in the UK. Boxing fans now want to see him go up against the likes of Fury or AJ as he'd give them both huge problems and they know it.

By comparison who's going to buy Fury vs Chisora 3 ?? Only mugs I suspect as we've already seen that Fury is just too big and skillful for Derek. Twice in fact, in very one sided and forgettable fights.

its a fight the boxing fans wanna see but not the casuals.

I think Fury is in the position now that any tough fights need to bring in mega bucks otherwise it will be dross for tickover money.

I think amongst the public Chisora is better known , a bigger character who sells the fight better and a lot easier work for Fury but prob more pay. Being his mate helps make the fight also.

Aj and Wilder are the only two fighters outwith the bet holders that Fury even contemplates fighting that will come close to giving him a nights work. The rest he will avoid it will be massive money fights or bums from now on in I suspect.

Fury should have gone for Andy Ruiz. He is the man who took AJ's virginity after all and is a former multi world champion. The UK public are all familiar with him and its a fight Fury will win.

I have no interest in the Chisora fight. He has dominated him twice and that was before he even took boxing seriously. We all know this was always going to be the fight. AJ was given unrealistic expectations just so that this fight was made.

I think the deal made to AJ was obv far too unrealistic to get signed in such a small time line. I dont think AJ's team wanted AJ to take Fury on right now either.

He is on the back of two defeats, a third defeat in a row prob hits his pocket quite heard. a break , an easy fight then Fury would be their more favourable route I assume.

Agreed both parties played the media (or tried to at least)

DAZN need the AJ redemption story with all the money they have spent on him. I think he's linked to some fighter I have not heard much of.

Chisora is the bigger name but even amongst the casuals, he doesn't sell this fight because the casuals
now Chisora is now past it.

Ruiz would have drawn in the casuals as he was the man that slayed the dragon, so to speak.

I think Chisora sells a fight better and the fight makes more money than Fury v Joyce.

Ruiz woulda drawn them in 3 years ago , still has some buzz about his name but nowhere near the same. Agreed he is bigger amongst the casuals than Joyce however.

I cant see anyway that Fury wants of Joyce. He would be a hard night work for Fury and that aint what they want at the pay off he would get for it.

Usyk, AJ, Wilder are the guys who I thinks are legit problems for Fury that he fights due to the payday.

the rest he doesnt touch unless its a particular good match up style wise.

Parker, Joyce, Sanchez, Hrgovic I dont think he takes on despite being favourite against them all due to tough fights that dont pay out much more than a lower ranked fighter does IMO.

----------------------
Given Chisora's cult following and people like to watch his fights I might have agreed with that if Fury and Chisora had never fought before.

The problem is they have fought before, twice. And they weren't particularly competitive fights. Stylistically it's not a good match up as we've all seen already between these two.

A third fight doesn't even alight a small spark of interest in me. I couldn't care less as it's another easy win for Fury who's far too big and skillful for Chisora.

In boxing you only ever get three fights between the same two fighters if at least one of the first two fights were close or marginal. So Fury vs Chisora 3 baffles me as I can't think of a less warranted trilogy in the history of elite boxing.

If Fury wants to give anyone another chance then why not fight Otto Wallin again as he gave him the hardest fight he's had in many years.

i dont think the average guy in the street casual fan would even know chisora and fury have fought before.

If they did they would be totally sold on this new "WAR" chisora and how this is a different fghter from before on his way to a 12 round schooling and shut out by Tyson.

Fury and Chisora are good mates... it doesnt surprise me in the slightest.

The average fan might not intially know but they would find out quickly enough. I would also argue that the current average casual, looks at chisora and sees an over the hill fighter.

Fury vs Ruiz does more PPV buys for me, especially globally but Fury wants to have an easy fight and so they have chosen Chisora. From a commercial perspective, I get it, but this is arguably the best HW on the planet and he shouldn't be fighting guys of Chisoras level.

I wonder if they will have the audacity to put this fight on as a PPV.

the average casual still thinks Chisora is a top 5 guy, they couldnt tell you Chisora has lost 3 of his last 4 fights.

I disagree Fury v Ruiz is either in the UK and loses out massively on PPV sales or it goes to the USA and loses huge ticket sales and less interest from people in the UK.

Fury against ANYONE that resembles a name is PPV.

Usyk
Whyte
AJ
Chisora
Wilder
Parker
Ruiz
Joyce
Sanchez
Hrgovic

Fury would demand PPV for any of those fights.

However Furys last 3 fights have been Wilder x 2 and Whyte. He will 100% be looking for an easy pay day in his next fight. Its extremely rare that top fighters fight top 5 guys in every single fight with no easy fights in between. You only get this from lesser known or lesser financially backed fighters.

I think 2022 is ending up as a very sad year for boxing.

- We saw an over the hill 40 year old GGG fight Canelo in a third fight that should have happened years ago, not now. I haven't even bothered watching the highlights yet such was my lack of interest.

- We still didn't get a Crawford vs Spence fight with no sight of it even happening next year.

- We got the Josh Taylor robbery decision against Jack Catterall.

- Fury vs AJ didn't get made and no sign of it ever happening now.

- Eubank Jr vs Connor Benn didn't happen at the last minute.

- Fury to fight Chisora in the most unwarranted trilogy fight in the history of boxing.

What a joke.

I dont know how you come to that conclusion. That is exactly what this whole episode was doing... it was the start of the promotion for their fight .

Neither was gonna take the fight right now. doesnt make sense for either of them.

Disagree. I think Chisora is well known as a fighter who doesn't win many fights against the top guys. Both by casauls and hardcore fans.

he is the big guy who wears a mask and is always on my screen !

I came to that conclusion because twice they've tried to make that fight and twice they've failed. What reason is there to believe the fight will ever happen now ? And when is this right time of which you speak to make the fight ?

The time is now to make this fight. We don't know how much longer these guys are going to fight on for. Fury is approaching 35, the clock is ticking and I'm now more certain then I ever was that we never see AJ vs Fury. Which is ridiculous as we'll only be able to talk about it as a what if.

most of them dont even know there is 4 major HW titles, they think there is one

If you only knew how many times "fights" try to get made.. happens all the time.

they will fight next year.

they will let AJ take a fight he will look impressive in and Fury will get a easy pay day then they will fight next year before AJ takes any other high profile losses.

Think you're confusing boxing casual with idiot. Just because someone is a casual it doesn't make them stupid or unable to quickly Google Chisora.

when I say boxing casual im talking the guys who only really watch the biggest of fights.

guys who think Benn v Eubank would be even, or that either is one of the best fighters in their division.

casuals are my bird, guys who only tune in to big fights and dont follow the narrative of the sport.

these guys know almost nothig about the actual sport and how it is progressing.

why would they google Chisora if they already think they know who he is etc.

casuals just want big names fighting regardless how much of a mismatch it is. the casuals love a 1st or 2nd round KO.

You've lost me completely here. You're assuming that if someone is a casual that they think they know who a fighter is even if they actually don't. Maybe if a person is deluded but not all casuals are.
