to have Hughes down losing 9 of those rounds is cheating cos all the judges are qualified.

Boxing doesn't give the fans many gifts but when it does, it delivers memorable ones.
It's the epitome of a 50/50. Anyone saying that one is going to smash the other is full of it. Been seeing a lot of vids to that effect on YouTube but nobody knows until they duke it out.
Factors to consider are obviously Spence's car crash. That may show itself to be a big factor on the night although I hope not.
Another factor is Bud's ability to react to and predict punches coming his way and then counter. Think he has the advantage over Spence in that regard. Also Bud has that dog in him, it's difficult to picture him losing to anyone tbh.
Spence is also a great fighter and is a bit younger than Bud so I'm definitely not counting him out. Gun to my head I'm going with Bud though.

I'm surprised at how many people think Bud wins convincingly. Spence has a granite chin and he breaks his opponents down with his relentless style. I'd be surprised if this ends in an early stoppage but these are true apex predators.
One thing to note, Bud tends to start slow and works his way into the fight. He cannot afford to do that against Spence, who is known for gathering momentum and break guys down.

more than likely comes down to who performs best on the night.
even the winner doesnt mean he is the better fighter. they are so close that it can come down the day they fight.
we all know some days we are better than others, some days things just dont click as well.

I hope Bud wins, i prefer his boxing, a bit more refined and slicker and is capable of doing things you rarely see in the ring.

Yeah I've seen it both ways on YouTube. A lot saying that Spence wins easily with his breaking down opponents style and that Bud won't be able to live with it etc.
You can paint it both ways, it all depends on who you prefer to watch. I think there's a lot of bias in people's arguments on the winner.
I don't think that who wins matters anywhere near as much as the fact that we're getting a fight for the ages, hopefully to rival the kind of fights we got in the four kings era.

this bit here i what is wrong wih boxing..... a fight for the ages ?? its a shame thats the way it is ....
the best fighting the best should be the norm not such a rarity that its considered a fight for the ages.
back in the 60's none of they big fights were billed as fights of the ages... it was the norm, big fights yes, but unusual defo not. the best fought the best regularly.
Spence is the bigger guy and we know from Brook and Porter that Spence definitely hits harder of the two. So there's a very valid argument that Bud just won't be able to live with Spence coming forward all night and smashing him up over 12 rounds.
On the flip side Bud is one of the most devious and meanest fighters you'll ever see. If anyone can deal with Spence coming forward all night it's him, especially with his ability to predict and react to attacks. Porter tried to do that to Bud and he ended up getting tko'd, so it's nothing Bud hasn't seen before.
It's the reason I keep coming back to Bud as the winner
In terms of sheer ability, iq and talent Crawford shades it over Spence and I think those things will

Bud has the wider array of skills but I think Spence has a great IQ for his particular style.
I see the fight being a chess match for 4-5 rounds and then one guy is going to land a big shot and the other guy will respond and then all hell will break loose.
Spence is a mean body puncher too but you'd imagine Bud and his team would have been working on defending those shots. Bud also has the switch hitting but I doubt that will be a pivotal factor in this fight, as Spence has dealt with both stances and his approach won't change.
If this fight goes the distance, I think Spence will have the advantage in terms of conditioning.
I'm more of a Spence fan but I recognise the threat Bud brings and if you watch every interview with Spence in the lead up, he's stated consistently that Bud is the real deal and he's never stood across from the ring against someone of this calibre. This is truly a fight for the ages.
In regards to the car crash that Spence barely survived, I think it's evident that he isn't quite the same fighter. What concerns me is that his previous opponents haven't been able to expose those chinks but someone like Bud will.
Are we all in agreement that Spence has fought the better opposition at 147?
Let's also appreciate the fact that both guys said yes to a rematch clause, so if this fight is close or has any controversy, they will fight again.

It's a fight for the ages because these are two of the most skilled fighters we have seen at welterweight since Floyd and Manny. These are once in a generation type of fighters, that's why it's a fight for the ages. All the belts, all the glory, all the marbles.

this bit here i what is wrong wih boxing..... a fight for the ages ?? its a shame thats the way it is ....
the best fighting the best should be the norm not such a rarity that its considered a fight for the ages.
back in the 60's none of they big fights were billed as fights of the ages... it was the norm, big fights yes, but unusual defo not. the best fought the best regularly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a fight for the ages because these are two of the most skilled fighters we have seen at welterweight since Floyd and Manny. These are once in a generation type of fighters, that's why it's a fight for the ages. All the belts, all the glory, all the marbles.

im not disputing thats it not a fight of the ages,it is. but it shouldnt be ... it should be fight of the year ... thats how bad boxing has gotten now. its sad that we see fights like this so rarely. these two should have fought each other twice by now.

Are we all in agreement that Spence has fought the better opposition at 147?
Let's also appreciate the fact that both guys said yes to a rematch clause, so if this fight is close or has any controversy, they will fight again.

spence does but has also spent far longer at 147 than Bud surely?
