But wouldn’t Charlo, fighting once a year risk being stripped of a title, cos Crawford and Spence are now in the Division?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
neither will be mando immediately after moving up, he already has mandos at 154 surely since he hasnt fought any for what ... 2 years? So he could fight 2/3 or any of his mandos for any of his 4 belts and that would give him a 2 year buffer before he even needs to look at Bud or Spence. The only way Charlo fights either of them two in the next year is if they are volountary challenges and with the payday he will get from Canelo he wont be in any rush to fight either two IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Charlo will not fight Spence.
They have been waiting for Charlo to move up, before moving to 154. So if Spence goes up to 154, he won't just fight guys with no titles. He wants the belts and the only way he gets them is if Charlo moves up.
My prediction: Charlo loses to Canelo. Charlo then goes back to 154 and defends against Tszyu. Charlo then vacates and goes up to 160. Spence vs Crawford for the belts at 154.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree he wont fight him and for the next two years wont need to face him if he chooses. I also think he looses to Canelo, takes the easier fights will get away with one poor voluntaries before he will need to take mandatory's that wont be Spence or Bud. Then once he has milked it til the point that he would have to face either he will vacate and move up.
your prediction could be spot on, the governing bodies may well just ignore all the current mando's and "force" Charlo to defend against one of them. And if the money is good enough he maybe tempted into the Bud fight ... I doubt it though.
Agree Tszyu is about the best guy in 154 he would want to fight.

Realistically, I think Crawford has 2-3 years at his prime left. This guy eats and sleeps boxing, so his body will hold up for longer, much like how Floyd was able to have longevity. Crawford also has a style that is based on skill and IQ, which tend to age well. Spence has a physically demanding style and that ages badly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he also aint in too many wars, his style and ability has stopped him taking a beating.
Even in sparring Spence will be in quite a few slugouts due to his style and gameplans.
Both Charlo's didn't have a great weekend.
Jermall got smacked by Plant and did nothing.
Jermell got called out by Bud and did nothing.
To me, it doesn't look like Jermell wants that fight. I think he saw Crawford at work live and thought, this guy could make me look like an absolute clown.

I haven't seen the video but from what I have read, he is currently going through a divorce and maybe he's taken to a selection of substances to help him through it.
I questioned Crawford's resume before the Spence fight but now, I am confident in saying that Crawford would stop every fighter Spence has faced.
Candidly, I think a prime Crawford beats a prime Pacquiao.
Yeah Crawford may struggle to find any worthwhile opponents if Charlo swerves him and Spence doesn't take the rematch. Bud's clearly after those belts at 154 so Charlo can vacate if he's not willing to fight Bud. If there's much left of him after the Canelo fight.
In an ideal world I'd love to see Bud vs Canelo as you'd potentially now be looking at the biggest fight in the history of the sport in terms of interest and revenue. Whether Bud could move up enough and Canelo can come back down is the question. Been a few years since Canelo last fought in the 150's I think.

I think Prime Floyd vs Prime Crawford is the more interesting fight, as both are counter punchers and have amazing defence. It would be a 12 round chess match.
If Charlo ducks Crawford, it will be an embarrassing moment in his career and it would damage his stock. Charlo has been vocal about his feelings towards Bud and both have had verb exchanges, so this would be the time to settle that feud.
Well Canelo has 3 fights with PBC:
1. Charlo
2. Benavidez?
3. Spence or Crawford?
I think Crawford beats Canelo,by the way.
