AJ vs Helenius confirmed.
Based on what was available, I think it's an ok opponent.
Helenius is a lot better than what I thought they were going to get. But then again I was thinking some complete unknown like when Jermaine Franklin was stacking shelves and got the last minute call to fight Whyte.

Helenius makes sense, easy work and a name people have heard of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure he's going to be easy work tbh. Maybe easy work for the old AJ but this version of AJ is very different.

AJ hasn't suddenly become an over the hill fighter, he's still capable of beating most of the guys in the division with ease.

If it goes beyond 6,it's not a good look for AJ.
I think AJ via TKO round 4 or 5.
The card is no longer PPV either.

He's not over the hill but he's a shadow of the supreme version that was coming forward and knocking guys out. He's got just one stoppage in his last six fights. Compared to 22 stoppages in a row prior to that. The difference is palpable.

Wasn't really my point. Franklin did well against both Whyte and AJ and has now proved himself as decent opposition but the fact is he was a relative unknown shelf stacker when he got the call to fight Whyte. Helenius is obviously a much better known fighter and bigger name with some interesting fights on his resume including a win against Del Boy. It makes this a fight people will actually want to see.

He isn't the same fighter but to say he's a shadow of his former self is over doing it.
He has 2 stoppages in his last 6, but 2 of those fights were against one of the best fighters in the division. That's what happens in boxing, most fighters have less stoppages, the longer their careers go and it's due to the increase in opponent difficulty.
It's just one stoppage in his last six fights. His last six fights are three losses, a decision against Ruiz, a decision against Franklin and the one stoppage of Pulev.

Ruiz stopped him though
The Ruiz stoppage changed him. It's tough being a heavyweight and getting hit by monster shots and the associated trauma. Then having to come back knowing you could get hit by shots like that again in your next fight.
I don't envy AJ, it's been a difficult few years, especially having to fight a master boxer like Usyk. At least he's had the cojones to get in the ring with him. Unlike a certain Tyson Fury who clearly doesn't want any part of that.
AJ clearly doesn't have the fire to improve either, which isn't surprising, given the amount of money he earns now.
It's why I'm not as excited for AJ Wilder as some seem to be. Had that fight happened pre Ruiz I'd have been salivating. Now I'm fairly certain Wilder sparks him out early doors.
I still think it's an interesting fight but yes, certainly not as exciting as it once was.
Who the hell is Helenius?
Sounds like a character from Game of Thrones Ffs!
And it’s non-ppv.
They should show it for free on Dave.
Booooo Dillian.
He looks like a character from GoT as well in truth

Oh yeh, silly me, he had that epic fight with Jamie Lannister..
Nah Fam, I ain’t watching. It’s not AJs or Hearns fault. It’s a shame it’s happened. I’ll just hang on a couple more weeks for Dubious (no spelling error) v Usyk.
Then Charlotte v Canelo.
Plus the footies back!
And there’s Barbie to watch…
Yeh sure, Charlotte, let’s go with that
Facking thing
Rather Helenius than Washington
Big awkward but 40 years old and wasn’t really that great anyway, AJ in anything other than 3 will be disappointing, maybe 4 or 5 as it’s a late change so different tactics but even still Helenius is the sort of guy early AJ would knock out in about 2 rounds
Is Charlotte one of Barbie's friends ?
