That guy is embarrassing. Didn't know he existed until these little videos with Eddie Hearn.

Manuel Charr (31-4, 17 KOs) just saw his Sept. 29th WBA “regular” title defense against Fres Oquendo (37-8, 24 KOs) go up in smoke after he failed a random VADA drug test conducted on August 24th. The Sun reports Charr’s urine sample came back positive for epitrenbolone and drostanolone — both anabolic steroids.

Regarding the positive test, Charr issued this statement to SKY in Germany:

“I have had seven title fights in my career, have undergone countless rehearsals and NEVER had a positive test. Of course, I have taken supplements in preparation, but never done anything forbidden.

”I eat in different restaurants every day, maybe something happened that I did not know anything about, unfortunately, I cannot give an explanation, I’m just shocked and sad.”

If this reasoning sounds familiar, it’s because it’s essentially the same explanation Canelo Alvarez gave about testing positive due to what he claimed was contaminated meat. That point was hotly debated among fans and media members alike for months, with no real way of knowing the absolute truth.

But the substances Charr tested positive for here are a whole different ball of yarn than the clenbuterol that Canelo was popped for, but either way — intentional or not — this isn’t a good look for Charr, who will likely have to suffer the consequences.

Charr still has the option to appeal his positive drug test and have his “B” sample tested, but I can’t readily think of one instance like this where a “B” sample turns out any differently than the “A”.

Unbelievably risky from Fury I must say.

Is there a rematch clause? Fury would do well to have one.

Makes a mockery of the ranking system, there’s fighters who’ve put the work in over the last couple of years to get into position and Fury gets in after fighting a couple of bum cruiser weights.

Fury's the lineal champion though, and Wilder already cleared his mandatory in the last fight

Lineal my hoop!

He didn’t hold all the belts when he got the decision over Wlad and he never defended anything.

Yup and the WBC are one of the least strict when it comes to mandatories anyway. If it makes money they're in and this fight certainly does that.

Lineal just means the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat the man etc, he's not lost so until he does he's the lineal champion, doesn't mean much outside of boxing but it does inside of boxing.

And to be fair the ranking system is a mockery anyway, how Whyte never became mandatory was a joke and how on earth they had Breazeale as mandatory or putting Ortiz back in after his drug ban is anybody's guess, and some of these other rankings are just baffling, is it Oquendo who has had about 2 heavyweight fights in 6 years yet is ranked about #4 by the WBA lol

Pulev is ranked #2 by the IBF and has had 2 fights in the last 2 years, same with hughie fury since april 2016 he's had 2 fights, yet he's #4 by the IBF and the winner of them 2 becomes the vacant #1 mandatory

No real logic to any of them really

I understand the meaning but Fury holds it like it’s the belt above all belts and it’s vvank.

He could’ve gone on to cement a legacy and he facked it.

The wilder fight is a win win for Fury, if he loses he’s been out to long and wasn’t ready after fighting a couple of bum midgets and he can come again.

It’s a dangerous one for Wilder.
