If we were to draw Liverpool, ideally it would be in the semi finals for me (if both did very well and progressed that far)
I thought they were breathing out of their arises in the 2nd half of our game, and another 7/8 weeks of punishing football will result in tired legs for them come Spring.
I think our squad depth - and freshness of players such as Toby, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Lamela and Moura - will see us with a bit more zip than most come Spring

Spurs fans see Liverpool as an easy target as we havent won anything in recent times. We see Spurs as an annoyance, win nothing ever but currently a decent side competing for a top4 spot with us. In reality once spurs sell their best players theyll slip into obscurity again. Ive a mate whos a Spurs fan and he only ever posts liverpool nonsense on FB and whatsapp. Its an inferiority complex that would be pointless to use against City Chelsea United as they are constantly successful. So liverpool being their only output of their frustrations
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My experience of this is quite different, Arsenal hate us for obvious reasons, Chelsea and Spurs have a lot of history, West Ham is completely one sided. However this Liverpool rivalry has only come about since we started finishing above yourselves regularly. The amount of jealous Pool fans I know who get wound up when we are being talked about instead of them. You don't get this with City or United fans, they take the banter and give it back, Liverpool seem to get really upset.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do they get really upset though?
This is the same as the whole 'rattled' thing. Finishing above somebody should not be considered something to shout about unless the person you finish above finishes second.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I find the Lpool fans that I know and work with to be by far the most defensive of any sort of criticism. Lots of fans are passionate but I know too many who take light criticism to heart. Even on this thread me stating that I feel Liverpool would be our best bet if we make the QFs ( and vice versa we would be best for Lpool ) has drawn out some very paranoid responses.

We definitely looked laboured in the second half against yourselves, but you lot were playing some good stuff, and we were chasing a lot. I think it was a one off though, as we’ve looked anything but tired since then, we’ve got a very light fixture list at the moment and Klopp has heavily rotated, so I’m hoping we’ll be fine.

Yeah, maybe just one of those days
I do not think there will be many fresher sides than us come Spring though. We have obviously battered Kane, Eriksen, Alli, Dier and Vertonghen this season, but we have loads of players who have started under 20 league games so far. The likes of Toby, Vic, Lamela and Rose have not started 20 between them I think. Moura has not started 1. Not squad fodder there.
We generally have a good Winter going in to Spring anyway - our dip is in Autumn going in to Winter - but this year we look really geared up for it.

Yeah of course you created more chances but that was more down to the way we set up during tithe game, sitting back playing on the break. Klopp obviously wanted to change the way we play in the big games because he thought we were too open.
And even though you created chances, you still only scored from a wonder goal and a penalty.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok so we have established:
1) We did create chances. I understand why you sat back abit but to suggest we ONLY created chances based on your tactics and completely disregard any of our play is abit naive IMO.
2) You have suggested that playing us is a "big game". Therefore making the previous comments about us being irrelevant as null and void.
Lastly, it was a good game between 2 good sides that tried to win. No hard feelings from me.
Oh and if you want to pick holes in our goals then your 2 were 1) a wonder goal and 2) a mistake by Dier.
You did play really well I’m not saying you didn’t, but what I am saying is the way Klopp set us up being so deep, you were bound to make some chances against us. It was very frustrating because we are good on the ball but obviously tried to do what you did to us at Wembley where we dominated possession.
Yeah it was a big game because atm you are part of the “big 6” and these team are way ahead of the rest.
Well Salah does that on a regular occurrence whereas Wanyama has scored like 9 goals his entire career so luck seemed to be on your side on the day. But yeah was 2 good teams and have a lot of potential to be super in the future.
No complaints about the game result, we bossed the first half and u bossed the second
Been down at Sandown Park this afternoon, and just came back, so I will post my take on this article.
How would it be a wumfest, Spurs would win easily, nothing to Wum Liverpool over really. Spurs are already a much better side. Looking forward to the FA Cup at the weekend now, where Spurs should take another step towards Wembley.
Have a good weekend all.

Spurs have comfortably beaten Liverpool, United and Real Madrid, so would have no problem getting drawn against any of those again

Yes, that’s how it works, sandy…once you’ve beaten a team for the first time in 5 years, you never lose to them again.

Should have seen how tired we looked against Porto.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't comment on Porto - Ihave no idea how lively a side they are - only the game I saw against a very fit Spurs side. It looked like we had a man over 2nd half. Two if you include the lino
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well u didn’t create much
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we didn't create much then what does that say about your. Double the amount of shots on target as you for a start....
———————————
We were 1-0 up though, we didn’t need to attack, just be solid in defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Solid in defence by allowing shots on target? I'm confused, your response suggests we created because you sat back. Hence we did create more than you then?
————————————
Yeah of course you created more chances but that was more down to the way we set up during tithe game, sitting back playing on the break. Klopp obviously wanted to change the way we play in the big games because he thought we were too open.
And even though you created chances, you still only scored from a wonder goal and a penalty.

I thought they were breathing out of their arises in the 2nd half of our game, and another 7/8 weeks of punishing football will result in tired legs for them come Spring.

Well, it’s got worse since then.

Have a good weekend, sandy, you’re an entertainer
