QPR V Forest Match Thread

QPR are likely to bombard Forest with some route one footy so the Reds are going to have to work their backsides off if they want to play done football. They’ll be smarting from the 4-0 thrashing at the CG in one of the few bright spots of the season.

Worrall likely to be fit again. Probably be worth sticking him in if they do go aerial towards Matt Smith. Worrall is decent in the air. Having said that, Figueiredo and Fox have done fairly well together so there is a temptation to let that partnership continue whilst it is performing.

Good luck to anyone over 5’8” going in that away end at Loftus Rd. Worst amount of leg room ever experienced other than the old North Stand at Maine Road!

You also can’t see the goal line from the Upper Tier. They have the cheek to charge £28 for it!

It is one of the easiest London grounds to get to, though, with some good drinking areas within a few tube stops.

Never been, I have been to Wembley several times and Amsterdam [don't talk about that] and Munich of course.

I think I'll give Loftus Rd a miss!

Think I’d go 3 at the back with wing backs, something like:

3-4-2-1
Pants
Figueiredo, Worrall, Fox
Darikwa, Watson (C), Guedioura, Colback
Tomlin, Lolley
Brereton

Interesting team Len but I think AK will stick with his 4-2-3-1 and probably the same starting eleven. Fig and Fox are capable of dealing with Smith, but the real key is to cut off his supply.

I think we sometimes feel a bit under pressure in home games so maybe we will start a bit more relaxed tomorrow. I'm feeling quite optimistic for the first time in many weeks.

It’s an atmospheric little ground on a good day to be fair. The home fans aren’t too cocky unlike other many other London clubs.

Three at the back might be good to contain Smith but I agree they need to win the midfield battle and not allow the R’s possession and space to play percentage balls into the Forest area.

Not done so well at Loftus Road in recent years, other than the 2-1 win where Oliveira scored his first Forest goal. Used to win fairly regularly down there in the nineties so about time the Reds evened the stats out a little.

Holloway used to be able to get the better of Forest regularly in the past but hopefully that run of luck has subsided. He does far more interesting interviews after a defeat than a win...😏

Although Dull ad a good win last night I'm pretty sure both clubs will be in the Championship next season. I see today's game as a playing out the season type game. So, with nowt to lose I ope Forest don't come for a draw. Seven goals please with the R's gettin four of them.

I can’t see Forest being that open. Karanka hasn’t had a great start at Forest and he needs results to gain some breathing space.

I wouldn’t be that presumptious that the season is over quite yet, either...

Positive thinking Mr Scarlet, does wonders. I've said before that three teams all beginning wiv the letter "B" will go down. It's just a pity one of them's not Brentford.

It’s been another frustrating stop start season for the Reds. It kind of grinds you down. Maybe I’ll cheer up when spring finally arrives.

Is Smith the man Forest need to keep an eye on today, RR? Noticed Lynch was amongst the goals the other week v Bolton. One of a handful of Forest defenders over recent years that looked like he knew how to attack the ball in the opposition’s penalty area. Injuries did for his Forest career, unfortunately, as I rated him.

Also, is the leg room as bad in the home stands as it is in the away end at Loftus Road??

Last time I went to Loftus Road they had a plastic pitch (1980s?). I can't be sure but I think we won. After the game we spent an enjoyable evening in the Golden Gloves pub (opposite Charing Cross hospital) which was run by the Mancini brothers; Terry played Centre Half for Arsenal, Tony was a British boxing champion. There was a bit of argey bargey when we left the pub at closing time but no real harm done.

Happy Days

Leg room is awful wherever you sit, no consessions for ome fans. Terry also played for us.

Been about half a dozen times to Loftus Road and have some back with quite badly grazed knees on the couple of occasions Forest managed to get a result!

Plenty of good pubs to soothe the pain in round that side of London, though, generally 👍🏼

I have a feeling Forest will get their third draw in a week this afternoon. I’m going 2-2 with Lolley scoring his first for the Reds. Brereton is due a goal too and seems quite determined to end his drought.
