It would be horrible to see a club like Dundee united go into administration.
I am sure if the roles were reversed and we were in that situation united would offer a helping hand were possible or at the very least offer consideration and respect towards the club's circumstances.
It would be sad to see clubs gloat and stick the boot in at any opertunity while actively seeking to block any changes to the games structure that might benefit them, even if they improve Scottish football.
I am sure some will but a club like united would never behave that way.

Never read any of the OP
The truth is nobody that matters really cares about Dundee united
You're not missed in the SP
All the travel up there to arrive at a half empty stadium full of weird looking weather beaten fckers wearing 80s clothes and struggling to string a sentence together without saying ...'kin likes' ...and ..'eh'.
It's a waste of time

Real shame tbh and a feel for you mate.
Hopefully the clubs band together and help you in your hour of need. You have dealt with everything with the upmost integrity with no cheating involved.
Do you's actually have enough fans for a buyout to be feasible?

Very relevant question and I really don't know the answer to be honest.
I would suspect not if I'm honest. What I can see is the fans buying in along with another stakeholder (if that's even possible).
The problem with any plan like that is that it is conditional on what Thompson wants for the club - and he wants more than the club is worth. He wants his money back which quite frankly is unrealistic given how much money the Thompson's (particularly his father) threw into the club.

You see, United won't ask for help. We don't expect it and we don't warrant it. We take responsibility for our own actions and we know that there's nobody to blame but ourselves for the situation we are in.
What we'll hopefully see now, and I'm sure we will, is that we'll do what any decent group of fans do - rally to save our club. I can't imagine any club's fans will sit on their over-sized posteriors and wait for someone to save the day, only for that saviour never to appear. So if the worst happens and United go into administration, the fans will do everything they can to save their club. What kind of supporter wouldn't do the same?

I wouldn’t wish what happened to us on any other club and hope utd get through this

To be fair I have no problem with Rangers fans enjoying our troubles - it is what it is and I have no problem with a rivalry - but I don't understand the talk of 'karma' and some Rangers fans seemingly thinking that our supposed actions (which there is no evidence of) in sinking Rangers (which we didn't) somehow contributed to our current situation. The Rangers situation has had no contribution to our dire status - it has been through our own mismanagement and a series of extremely poor decisions at every level of the club.
We take responsibility for our own actions and we know that there's nobody to blame but ourselves for the situation we are in.

I think you'd find we'd both be responsible for that.
Hey I agree and certainly don't want the same to happen to anyone. There is both sarcasm and truth in that post but that seems to be lost on folk these days.
I hope there is no gloating or sticking in the boot. Just pointing out what has happened in the past.
Look at hearts they are probably pretty happy with where they are now. They certainly were given help by other clubs too by having their hearings and punishment delayed giving them plenty of time to plan.
Surely united fanbase is of similar size to hearts and the amounts involved for a buyout or fan shared ownership would be similar too.
If in a few years united were in a similar position to hearts I would expect you would be happy with that.
As for rangers I believe club 1872 are the second highest shareholder with the stake growing so the fans are certainly getting there
Hearts have a bigger fan base than us
I really don't want us to go into Admin because of the wider impact on the local community in terms of businesses not being paid etc. I really hope we can avoid it.
Pleasing. Very pleasing

What did we wish for? What chickens are coming home to roost?
I genuinely have no idea.
What chickens are coming home to roost?
Roast ones?
Is it an Easter reference? Have you given them up for Lent esc?

Just a shame poor Eddie Thomson was a smart successful man, I reckon Steven must of been adopted or dropped on his head several times.
