No sorry, Liverpool have the better squad.
..................
I suspect we will soon see, now we are getting into the business end of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I see Liverpool and Spurs battling it out for second.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What happened to that gap you were waanking over on Saturday night? Thought we're gonna slip into 5th mate?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately the officials decided they would rule out a legitimate Chelsea goal. Luckily for the rest of us in the league, VAR will come in next season and make it a level playing field.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs will drop out then with all of Allis dives being punished
Toor, do you really like VAR ? I hate it.

I’d say for their clubs, both are as important assets to try and keep as any of their players are.
Pressure wise, I’m assuming by genuine pressure you mean at risk of losing their jobs, then a significant downturn to how they are currently performing. Realistic expectations for each aren’t the same as the Manchester clubs, or Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely expectations increase though ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not generally by boards, they tend to stay more realistic than fans (and particularly opposition ones). Its all relative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course the spurs and Liverpool's boards are going to expect more as time (and their investment) goes on.
Can you imagine Levy turning down £150m for Kane plus giving him £250k per week just to compete for 4th place ?

Love the idea. Especially with the season we've had I terms of decisions costing us points. Of course there's a lot of learning to be done and problems ironed out but it can only make the game better for me. A fairer game is a better game, even if decisions take a little longer, in my opinion.

People seem to easily forget the handicap Spurs have had playing home games in a different stadium.
Would Liverpool or United have the points total they have and be ahead of us if they were at home in a neutral stadium?
And what would the difference be if you did a complete opposite scenario with us playing at WHL and those two clubs being in a different place to Anfield or Old Trafford?

Spurs just don't carry trophy-winning weight. They just don't have it and I think the FA cup this year will confirm that with them failing as favourites in a home game.

I forgot spurs where in the quarter finals of the FA Cup when I asked.
It's an odd one. Whilst Spurs rely so much on Kane, they have a better balanced squad than Liverpool who might struggle if they lost one of their 3 forwards for any prolonged period.
I think both would surely come in for some stick if they dont win something within the next 2 seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely disagree. First eleven might be close but we have a better squad. You only have to look at the two benches to realise. We lost Mane for a long period in this season to a ban and injury. People said when we lost Coutinho we'd struggle but such is the squad we've not only coped but continued to improve our form.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, sorry but spurs have the better squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. We have more depth. Spurs would be screwed without Kane.

It's probably also a handicap for other teams.
For example, at a guess, the pitch is likely bigger than the Spurs pitch, making it more difficult to park the bus and making it easier for Spurs to break them down.
I don't think it would make much difference to us, our form at other stadiums this season is probably better than our form at Anfield and of course the bigger pitch would make it more difficult for teams to park the bus against us.
Hmmmm. I think Spurs would fair better than Liverpool if you took Salah and Kane out of their sides.

Jose would probably prefer us playing away from old Trafford given the noise our away fans make
Spurs played at their ground last season and only managed to put on the pressure.
I don't think it would have been any different this season.
Don't forget the other teams are also more used to White Hart Lane than Wembley. After about 2 months of the season, the advantage of playing at Wembley heavily shifted to Spurs favour, not the opposition.
Spurs are playing in a ground they are far more used to than any team in the world so it's a home game like any other once Spurs get used to the stadium.
I hope this isn't too complex for cockneys to process as its pure undisputable scientific deductive reasoning.

We have struggled against the park buses this season compared to only dropping 4 points at home last season. So that theory does not stand up.

Really? The BBC ran that very suggestion and it turns out Spurs would have lost the most points but for Kane's goals. Had we not had Salah, we'd probably play Mane on the right where he banged them in last season and Ox on the left. People forget that Salah is not beating five players and scoring or scoring a load of goals outside the box. Most of the time it's Firmino and sometimes Mane creating the space and Salah being in the right place for a simple goal.
We'd much more likely struggle without Firmino in my opinion. That's an area we need to improve in, with Sturridge always injured and likely going and Ings never recovering from his time out.
Kane scores the vast majority of Spurs' goals. Salah doesn't score the vast majority of our goals.
