Agree Dustin, it is the first time in years we go in thinking there is a chance we could win the game rather than hoping or even just praying for damage limitation.

Celtic are still a better side and favourites for the game, but our progress shouldn't be overlooked regardless of the result.

Murty after the game summed it up. This is the first old firm for a long time that we can go into looking to impose our game on them. Every other game over the last few years has been a case of shutting up shop and keeping the game as close as possible without troubling celtic.

Exactly .

Guys like Cummings, docherty , Goss can all be as brilliant as they want against Ayr and Falkirk

But can they step up ?

Doubtful

Wonder if Rodgers will trust Ntcham to play in an OF game this time.

Guess he thought he was big-game bottler last time

Lets see if Docherty will do it in the 'big games' coming up. Celtic will dominate and Rangers will hit on the break. It will be tight
--------------------------------------------------

An OF game is a different test altogether and that is the one thing that might break our stride a little on sunday. We will have likely have 4 or 5 players starting on sunday who have never played in an OF.

I think it would be pretty remarkable if they all came in, adjusted to the situation right away and played to the top of their game.

It very unlikely that will happen
-------------------------------------------------------------------
A number of them being Rangers fans though, that can only spur them on.

Celtic 5/6

Bookies are not often wrong. Rogic is coming back to himself at last! Dembele is scoring again also.

why is it doubtful .... IMO Docherty is made for these games, energy, commitment and desire are the three most important attributes to have in the middle of the park in an OF.

The defending for that first goal yesterday was atrocious.

Sunday will be an exciting match, undoubtedly rangers have stepped it up and are in good form. We need this though to give ourselves an extra bit of motivation going into the business end of the season. We haven't played particularly well at all this season but are well on track

Is Brown the deepest of the 3?

Be fun watching him try and keep up with Windass' runs

Brown and Ntcham sit

I'm sure windass will make these runs and he will be handful ... hopefully we can cope

We 100% need to be switched defensively this weekend, we dont half give some soft goals away

Rogic being back is massive for us, no question we're a bigger threat with him in the team. A few players still missing that would have been good to have available like LG and Armstrong, however we should have enough to get a result on Sunday. Roberts won't start as he's not match fit but another full week of training and he'll be a good option from the bench!

The big decisions will be who starts in defene out of Hendry and Compper. The other one is Sinclair, does he keep his place or will McGregor(probably) or Edouard start? Rest of the team picks itself just now.

Think we will go 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 TBH.

Rogic is the one I most want to miss the game, he's got a knack v us.

Though he hasn't looked back to the level he was at before yet so hopefully his struggles continue.

Sunday is a one off game, it means nothing in terms of our overall objectives and progress. I would like to think we are building something longer term rather than writing anyone off if we don't win on Sunday, which we shouldn't given the differences between the sides.

However - Bates 21, McCrorie 19, John 23, Docherty 21, Windass 23, Goss 21, Morelos 21, Cummings 21.

That's the longer term picture for us if we can add Cummings and Goss perm. Sunday doesn't detract from the fact these guys have their best years ahead of them and will be worth a fair bit when we sell them on.
----------------------------------------

Couldn't agree more.

Short term-ism was our biggest downfall with the Pedro appointment.

We now look like we are building something for the next 3 or 4 seasons.

And remarkably it seems to be going pretty well.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Long term? Not until you extend the manager's contract it's not.

Alves won every ball that went near him, I feel the criticism off him is a little over the top considering it's his first game in 2 months!

Boyata might also be back but from the bench perhaps. Musonda, Roberts and one of Sinclair, Edouard available from bench.

Buzzing for it!
