You have to ask yourself what kind of backward thinking inept nation would go to these lengths to eliminate one person when all they had to do was put a bullet in him.

I would have thought using a gun would attract more attention at the time and more chance of being tracked down. Poison is silent but deadly.

Behave, people get murdered all the time it isn't tough to carry out but this way is pathetic and turns the whole thing into a circus, amazed any gets all impressed by methods that died out a century ago in the first world.

False flag

If Russia really wantEd him dead with no suspicion they could have just staged a botched mugging

Its a false flag attempt to gain support for war an eventual war with Russia

Arms company's make billions of pounds

War is the only thing that makes money for UK and America as we offer literally nothing else in terms of trade

Just like 9/11

Free your minds people everything you hear on the news in America and the UK is agenda filled political propaganda

Russia didn't do it

They are denying it

They are also convinced it's anti Russia propaganda

UK can do chit either we would get obliterated if we declared war on Russia

We would be obliterated if we declared war on Russia??

A nation that has to queue around the block for bread and milk?!?!

IF in some twilight bizarre world where Russia and Britain went to war(which would never happen in any way shape or form) Britain would be victorious due in no small part to the fact that the USA would step in and aid us immediately.

Russia died as a superpower 20-30 years ago at least and Putin desperately tries to make it appear the opposite.

Well if Russia are denying it that's good enough for me. They have no agenda unlike our nasty media.

Well, as long as we're throwing in conspiracy theories,..... Might as well have a go.

This was just another way for them to test our emergency response protocols.

It's the same reason why they buzz their fighter jets and subs ever so closer to our North Sea interests. Merely a way to check for response times and response protocols.

Everyone does it.

It will only get worse once their extensions to the Nord Stream gas pipeline network fill up the North Sea.

Anyone who's ever had a Russian pipeline near them, has had nothing but grief.

The same American president who's just fired his Secretary of State a day after the latter voiced his support of our PM's comments on Russian involvement in the poisoning?

The same meddling motor-mouth president who's suddenly picked this, of all moments, to opt for complete radio silence on matters Britain?

He's knocked heads with his SoS for a year, and this is the straw that broke the camel's back?

We have to ask why we gave him refuge, and why Moscow (alledgedly) has chosen now to try to eliminate him.

Spying is war, and in a war you eliminate the enemy.

Jihadi John goes to Syria, we eliminate him. This is really little different in principle.

Completely disagree with the Jihadi John comparison.
He was chopping heads off on live streams for religious reasons, Spies are dealing in information, there is a very clear line of difference imo.

Statecraft and/or industrial espionage is 'part of the game', a game WE invented. see Francis Walsingham.
If Russia was so concerned about this guy why wait so long to eliminate him? They had him in their prison and eventually swapped him, they're out to humiliate the UK and make people feel unsafe here, its embarrassing to OUR intelligence forces that this happened.

We give refuge to many, many people for many, many different reasons (though apparently serving in our military if you're brown seems to be an issue - interpreters and ghurkas). We have a history of welcoming dissidents from elsewhere Karl Marx probably the most famous, our liberal democracy can cope with dissenting voices in fact it thrives, Nigel Farage/Abu Hamza types wouldn't be welcome in many countries, here they can say what they want, as long as they don't cross the line of legality.
