It may be a case of Hart being good around the squad. Rutland and Pickford are inexperienced, and maybe Southgate sees Hart as someone who can help them in a tournament. You have to pick 3 keepers, and with 2 youngsters already no real reason to look for another.

Or Southgate may see Hart as his #1.

he's been our best CB this season tbh, but he's a crock.

Yep there’s the team spirit element that often gets overlooked. Hart is a big personality in the England dressing room. Even if he’s not number one that will get him on the plane. It does help having players there that have played in world cups. All international teams do this.

Theresa May do the right thing and boycott England to Russia.

Smalling is honking, he's had his chance and continually underperformed.

A midfield 3 of Dier, Wilshere and Alli sounds good on paper but Belgium would have a field day, more solidity needed.

Is Loftus-Cheek going to recover in time? someone of his build and ability to hang onto the ball could be crucial, essentially to try and do what Dembele does for Spurs.
