youve been saying this for YEARS.
Stop buying it then....
For a paper whose core support will be Old Firm fans, who will probably read the back pages before the front they really are quite stupid. Would not be surprised if Rangers boycott them as well. Expect them to be extremely pro-Celtic now, in order to prise back some Celtic fans.
haven't bought it for over 5 years, or indeed any red-top rag, it's about time the two clubs started cutting off their access to the club
The Record needs Celtic more than Celtic need the Record.
problem is Captain the Record pay significant sums to advertise at both grounds
this is more about responsible journalism
I'm sure Celtic can find other companies who will pay to advertise at the grounds. The Record and it's peers are a cancer on Scottish football and they need to be cut out before it kills the game.
It's circling the drain as it is....
Anyone think they will apologise.
They will apologise but it means nothing. It's been obvious for a long time that they are anti Neil Lennon and they have done as much as anyone to create the situation Lennon has had to put up with for 10 years.
well they should Henrik
Rangers should also be making a statement
of course they'll apologise, so more stupid people will buy it to read the apology...
Hearing now that this decision was reached after a discussion between Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell, yet not the club's PR department.
What is that PR department employed for? Our manager has to deal with all this instead of focussing on football. After we played Hibs, the Daily Record (shockerooni) printed a story saying Lennon was raging with the chopped off goal. Lennon had to personally respond to the website against that story and say he was disappointed with the story.
If anything, the headline gets at Rangers and Rangers fans more than anyone else. Not that I care. It would be banter if it was posted on here. Let's call it tabloid drivel when it's in the rags.
No I think it is completely insensitive considering the personal life Neil Lennon has had to suffer. It is also completely disrespectful to Rangers Football Club and their supporters. Rangers should follow suit and kill off this disgusting rag.
why is it when celtic fans get upset we have to come out and back them up.....celtic just have to get used to bad headlines andsort it out for themselves...the club management board, fans spend all week sniping at who they play, grass peopler up to the authorities to gain any advantage and then expect us to back them..sort it out yourselves.
Opportunity missed! Pity the Rangers and Celtic boards did not get together and jointly condemn this inflamatory headline!
Congratulations to Celtic for their stance. Will the police and government now be looking into this gross incitement to induce unrest in the country?
No I thought not.
It is not a question of backing us up, I just thought that the headline was offensive to Rangers as well. If you do not then fine.

This is actually a pleasant surprise. Well done to Celtic indeed
I cant believe the drivel about this non-story! Do I have any change in my opinion on paying taxes or Neil Lennon as a result of this headline? Quite simply no! Do I have a dislike of the Green Brigade for their mis-spelt banner and of the Celtic board for their non intervention/banishment of the perpetrators most certainly yes. If you are so easily offended how do you get through 90 minutes plus at a game of football?
This is the non story prior to an Old Firm and anyone with a modicum of sense would ignore it, much like the songs we here from our own and opposing fans! Or indeed write a letter, feck, you've issued a statement!

couldnt agree more with that bit.
however we know there are plenty who fall short on the modicum of sense scale.
The story is outrageous in its attack on Rangers fans and the headline attempts to stir up even more hatred of Lennon.
You me and the next guy can ignore it but see that guy just up a wee bit hes mental....
sad but true.
Here's the thing though Duke! Adults ignore it, Celtic fans have probably given the Daily Record a record number of hits on its web page! So the Record directors will pat each other on the back and say job done! It was more like a Daily Sport headline, once you read it you realise there is no story!
yes mate you and me.... but did you listen to any of the phone ins....
they are going nuts over it....
the game did not need this and nor did those that hate Rangers fans or hate Lennon
Its just more amo from our irresponsible press.
Phone ins! dont listen to that drivel! Makes you embarassed to have a pulse regardless of the team they support! Clyde must send someone round to put their number on speed-dial! Anyway if I was one for conspiracies I would blame Celtic for phone-ins cause one of their board members runs BT!! But I'm not so I won't!
