Give it a rest...About as pathetic as the Bears trying to sell him.

Let's just enjoy his play for the next couple of seasons and see where it takes us

Not sure I agree entirely with your comment about Petrov. But I do think he's getting there and in today's EPL market £10 million would be about right.

Yes if he was playing in the Premiership, we're looking at £6.5million tops. No one would pay an eight figure fee for someone in the SPL. McGeady I accept, since he was young an International and consistent. If Kayal, Izzy and Jelavic were in this form for a team like Sunderland/Fulham then they would be talking at least £13million for each. But they play in Scotland and will not be worth so much.

The value of Beram Kayal. In today's market, it must be around £10million.

Hes unproven in a decent league so imo that limits his value to about 4-5m

I get the impression that he wants to stay, just time for the Celtic board to improve his deal: he is actually one of our lowest earners! If he stays then it will be better than any of the signings to come over this summer.

usually when player go from EPL to EPL clubs or lower english up to EPL the figures are inflated because theyre showing what they can do in arguably the best league in the world. like 67 says, because he would be coming from the SPL, the figure falls a bit. Plus he has only been at celtic for one season ans had 2 spells of injury in that time i think, so a bit of a gamble for anything over 5 million i reckon.

Titanic

Delivered in an albeit matter-of-fact tone, it is still my genuine opinion. In any case, you stick to your own style of posting and I'll stick to mine. I know what is and what isn't pathetic

The only reason we may get more is because he is young. English clubs will be signing young players so that they have decent enough squads for when the UEFA Fair Play thing comes in. Notice they are doing all their spending on young players just now: Jones, Henderson etc.

OK. I'll admit after one season maybe we wouldn't get that for him, possibly £5-7m in my opinion though. The fact is, he has 3 years left on his deal so I doubt we'd sell him for any less. If he performs at the same level this season, coupled with some good Europa League performances, then why shouldn't we expect as much as McGeady, Petrov, Hutton etc.?

In the current market he's worth about £9million. We might be able to push it over £10million if some really big teams are in for him.

Who cares though, he's staying here.

not if your club gets a 6 million bid,he aint pie, thats what you quote for him.

yes Vlad i think he needs another season to see if he can be consistant enough to merit a 10 million price tag. I think he will get a new deal anyway, around 25k mark.
Herein lies the danger though. maybe this guy has been performing out of his skin and coud go from 8k up to the 20k mark or more after one season. say celtic sign him up to a new 4 or 5 year deal. what happens if he just stops performing? we've seen it with balde and lovenkrands, they play well, get the bumper deal and sit back and bleed the club.
gotta be worth that risk though yeh? or would you take, say, 5.5 million for him now?

posted on 10/6/11

I would personally take the risk. Lovenkrands and Balde undoubtedly had ability but they seemed lazy. Kayal may be different. Think we will get £8million if he plays well this year, especially in Europe.

Celtic have not quoted anywhere that our asking price is £6million. The evening times reported Bolton had bid £2million. Rejected.

The only quote to come from Celtic on this is that whatever clubs value Kayal at we will ask them to treble that.

So therefore if Aston Villa for example value Kayal at £5million make it £15m and they have a deal.

Show me one quote where Celtic have said we will accept £6m.

Kayal you say has the ability to score goals then why has he played 113 games between Haifa and Celtic and only scored 8 goals! Thats a goal every 13 games! EPL teams are signing young British trained players as a requirement of Eufa Kayal does not fall into this bracket!
He is a £4million pound player never will you see £10 million!

U5472 using your logic if someone bids £20 then Celtic will accept £60 as its treble the valuation of the other club!!

It's not Rangers were talking about here. We don't need to nor will we accept derisory offers. Hence the only word to come from the club has been that £2million is not close to enough...treble a proper valuation of the player and you get him. We have him on a long contract, we have izzaguirre on a similar deal. Both will receive improved terms and that will be the end of the matter.

The only way that will change is if we are offered silly money for them,

Until Celtic officially say they want x amount on the Celtic website then sorry but its nonsense.

celtic would easily take 8 million for him, never mind 15 million. nowhere does it say 6 million price tag but everyones estimation is in that ball-park figure. celtic dont adopt a policy of putting what they want for a player on their website so you aint gona see that and they dont only accept offers if they are treble what the player is valued at. that would mean they valued mcgeady at 3 milloin and mcdonald was valued at 1.3million

IF JORDAN HENDERSON GOES FOR £10MILLION THEN WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE NOT SELL KAYAL FOR ATLEAST £10MILLION?
