Chopping and changing is no use, Celtic done it in the 90's as Rangers won 9 in a row.
If you get a new manager in he will want new players, if they dont gel quickly enough results will be poor and celtic will pull away again.
"Hopefully a few take a leaf out of Kranjcar's book and leave before they are pushed."
A lot of them are on the best contracts they've ever had though, unfortunately for us. They'll either need to find a new club which pays them less, or we'll need to pay them off (more than likely)
Lex should easily do that as Miller, Martin, Goss, Dalcio as 3 loans ending and Miller's contract being up.
Jordan Thompson's deal is up to so he should leave having not made any breakthrough.
That's the best part of 50k a week before we even start.

I'd say we're still rebuilding as we're coming to the 5th transfer window being back in the top flight and for the 5th time we're requiring players in those positions.
I wouldn't say we're replacing with better quality either. Holt for example, offers everything Docherty does imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry bud
not a chance
Doc is a much much better player than Holt already and he is just a kid.
He will be our main man for years to come.

He brought Larsson with him and bought a few decent players for the spine of the team, Lambert, Burley, Reiper etc. It was a one off that they managed to win the league that season against the mega millions spent by Rangers.
Can Rangers afford the quality required to beef up their team enough? Recent transfer windows and accounts would say no

Good post agree with most.
I would add to those leaving
Cummings just not suited to one up option
Hardie has scored goals at every level except where it counts.
Glenn Middleton is our new hope and will be promoted to the first team squad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Duke what if the new man wants to play 2 up?
Would you have Cummings then? Do you think Hardie has had a fair chance with us? no chance would i let him go without another crack at it after seeing some of his finishing for Livi. I fear that would come back to haunt us.
Not seen Middleton but getting some decent reviews, hopefully get a debut this season.

It's not a one off, it's been done many times over in football. Just because you spend the most doesn't guarantee success.
We need to make smart decisions and I like the change in the way we have done business in January, continue like that and we will keep improving.

the danger with Doc is we CONTINUE to ask him to do everything
He has been with us 5 mins and already we work him into the ground.
a 2 man midfield which on Saturday had a guy who hasn't played in months before that Goss out of form.
With 2 wide men and Windass miles away from the action Greg has far to much to do.

Just not seeing it with Cummings and I don't think many managers will come and play 2 up top
Hardie I think hasn't really had the chance his goals deserve so if I was to keep anyone it would be him.
But I expect him to go.
Middleton will take over as cover for Morelos
Middleton is a right winger though?

Duke - Heard great things about this lad
good stuff more likely to get a chance
Seen a list of free agents from the Championship.
Alan Hutton, would you have him over Hodson? bearing in mind he'd barely play anyway.
McGregor also on a free but no space for him.
Tim Cahill, he's only 38 now
Junior Hoilett too, he was a good player a few years ago and only 27. Probably the only one i'd genuinely be interested in.
