I'd say we're still rebuilding as we're coming to the 5th transfer window being back in the top flight and for the 5th time we're requiring players in those positions.
I wouldn't say we're replacing with better quality either. Holt for example, offers everything Docherty does imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry bud
not a chance
Doc is a much much better player than Holt already and he is just a kid.
He will be our main man for years to come.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All about opinions I suppose.
I don't see it with Docherty but will gladly be proven wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
the danger with Doc is we CONTINUE to ask him to do everything
He has been with us 5 mins and already we work him into the ground.
a 2 man midfield which on Saturday had a guy who hasn't played in months before that Goss out of form.
With 2 wide men and Windass miles away from the action Greg has far to much to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agreeHe looks as if he could be a good player but he's being overworked due to the fact the manager just hasn't got any tactical nous
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its frign mental mate
a kid who has been with us 5 mins and we have him covering everyblade of grass covering for attacking full backs. lazy No 10s out of form defensive guys and half fit team mates.
Fekn Stevie Wonder can see it....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did he have the day off against Celtic?
Our perfect no10, would be and we already have him is is Morelos.
The boys link up play is fantastic and he can pass, I also think it would help him in his composure to play slightly further back.
So yes keep Morelos and sign a consistent goal scorer
least its her own, ur maw stinks of pete the jakey spunkballoons.
spunkballoons.

Compliments in taking the time and effort to write your article. I agree with all you say. As a Gers fan for over 60 years and someone familiar with the Board, nothing much will change until King and his chancers leave the Board and we have an owner who invests in the club in a professional manner. We simply do not have the money, even getting something for the 13 players leaving , to get a good manager, his huge & expensive back room staff and the kind of transfer funds that he would want. The only name that would interest me in the last 6 months has been van Bronckhorst and even he is probably too expensive so we are probably left with Mutry for a year and the normal loanees looking to finish 2nd to 4th maybe with a Cup thrown in, until someone buys out King. Thoughts

Would be interesting to see us give that a shot, with Cummings as the 9.
Still think if we use a 10, Dorrans is the man to unlock doors in that position.

We can only work with what we have, I think if there was anyone else who had the money and wanted to invest they would have done it by now.
King and co have given us our club back so for as long as they are here and we are improving even if its slowly, i'll give them my backing but it will be a continual process of giving new guys a chance, moving on the ones that don't work out and trying to end up with enough of them that do. In our financial situation the approach we have taken in January is the most sensible going forward
That and looking for young guys with potential and adding any decent free agents we can, the days of us going and spending 4-5m on a single player are gone for the forseeable future.

Esc, surely Dorrans for Jack in that system?
Clarke does seem to be the most obvious solution, I can only hope whomever is in charge of that decision knows more than I do about potential managerial options.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. For the CM two - The dynamism and forward thinking comes from Docherty . The balance comes fromJack who is composed and a good ball winner. Docherty and Dorrans are too similar (as was unfortunately seen v Motherwell at the weekend when we didn’t have enough cover CM in 1st half). I think Docherty is a better option of the two

Yes I agree
You could move dorrans to no 10 give Doc more space assumes a good defensive guy is there
Problem is windass fek he is our best goal scorer yet does nowt else
Would dorrans get his goals ?

I’d drop Windass and play Cummings in a 4-4-2 to try to improve our conversion rate
