Champers, my head has wobbled enough this season due to the inconsistent, monotonous season we've had. You, yourself stated that you haven't enjoyed the season, and that you had more or less resigned yourself that we'd be in the Championship next season.
Like I said, I'm in the minority, and I didn't say (on the Leicester page) that I want him gone, I just said I wouldn't be bothered if he did leave. There's already huge rumours saying he's going anyway, so it's nothing new.
Hopefully he's not coming to us!

Who's going to want to come to manage this bag of frogs. DoF out of his depth and aging squad who will hang on for grim death. and knowing even if you win the premier league you will get fired the next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ecellent squad to work with.
Plenty of funds for transfers
Great Club
Great facilities
Any half decent Manager could work wonders, shame we don;t have one !
The problem we now have is that Puel has put in place a structure from top to bottom to play his failing football.
It’s going to be a big job for a new manager to come in in fix that whilst getting results with the first team.
For me we’ve never needed a strong and experienced manager more.
Benitez would fit the bill perfectly (normally I wouldn’t want his aloof and player alienating style but right now they need shaking up).
Would still love Eddie Howe though.
Rafa or the Fulham guy for me

Boy you have it bad Mersey.
Easy to fix just play to the players strengths as Shakey did when he took over from Claudio.
This squad has had years of training getting to know their roles, that's why it goes so wrong when it's changed too quick but like a memory foam mattress they would quickly revert to shape and form.
Lets forget the player issues with change, most people on here thought Puel was the Messiah when he had us on a decent winning streak, his tactical changes enhanced our style, exciting attacking football playing through the middle.
The players loved it, it was a change in style if only partial but they took it on board and ran with it, I know it seems like a distant memory but it wasn't that long ago.
The Players will adapt and evolve, they've shown that already but the tactics and training for that has to be correct.
One of the biggest mysteries of Puel's reign will be why did he change it, he had the winning style, he had them playing better football, he had the players on side, he had the fans on side, we were heading for European Football.
It's like he sabotaged himself?

That worked for five games then downward from then on

I haven't enjoyed the season, no, but I think that's more down to the difference between this season and last. Last season was like a 9 month dream, culminating in metaphorical messy sheets at the end of May.
I knew this season would be tough but I was probably a bit naive in thinking just how tough. 36 points with 2 games to play is a brilliant haul though, even if it hasn't been pretty to watch at times. We're still massively hamstrung by having to come up against 19 other teams with far better squads and far more money than we've got. Wagner has achieved every target set for him so far so until he fails then there should be no calls for his head, it just sounds petulant and ungrateful. Don't forget where we once were!

TB wasn't harking back to our League winning style Nev . I don't see anybody denying we had to change, and the initial tweaks worked well.
What's happened now is we are trying to play as if we had Messi in the side, we don't with the inevitable consequences.
I'm still prepared to give Claude a chance if the owners stick by him, he may be able to get us playing better with some new players more suited to his style and with a decent pre-season. It looks like a big gamble though and I'm not convinced he'll be given that opportunity.
i'm numb about it after watching players who CBA'ed and really new that something was afoot.
Classic signs of being abandoned by the assistant manager and Stowell as per the CR last days on the touch line.
I think he tried was maybe to stubborn or realized we arn't as good as we think we are?
