Highlights of last night. Look at the two defenders who followed Weimann leaving Forsyth in masses of space to place the cross. Hope for similar bad defending from them at Craven Cottage.

Some decisions for Rowett to make for the second leg. Both matches were always likely to be high intensity and a big ask for players in the more physically demanding areas to play at that level for all of both games. For the second leg we may need subs to replace tired legs but depending on how it all goes we also may need impact subs.

You would think the back three, Wisdom and the midfield two will start the same. Hopefully BJ and Huddz can keep it going because they are crucial to our success. Jerome had a bit of a rest last night so he will be OK. Lawrence and Weimann are fit lads.

McAnya in for Vydra for me with Weimann moving inside. He will do more there than Vydra to restrict their centre backs and McDonald bringing the ball forward. Anya's natural position is a wing back so provided he is fully fit he should be able to do as good a job there as Weimann did last night. As a sub Vydra has shown he can be lethal when space opens up. If it's nil-nil on the night with twenty to go he can come on for the exhausted Weimann and score the decisive goal that puts us two up overall. If it's all hands to the pump late on Ledley comes on and we go 3-5-1-1, sacrificing the exhausted Lawrence for an extra midfielder. The third sub is Nuge for the exhausted Jerome or Hanson for the exhausted McAnya. If it all goes wrong and we are behind on the night we have Vydra, Palmer and Nugent as attacking subs so we sacrifice one of the centre backs, BJ and whoever else is most exhausted and do it gung ho style.

Apparently jumping up and down and throwing your pint everywhere when Derby scores is not acceptable in JJ’s in Bahrain πŸ˜‚

Except on those occasions where View completely ignores me we often engage in a manly firm handshake and a brief discussion in front of the North Stand. On very special occasions it might progress to a hug, also of the manly variety. It's all perfectly proper and there are witnesses who would attest to its propriety, of that I'm pretty sure. Actually that's just reminded me. Don't I have to kiss Spart or something if we get promoted?

Well done to the whole team last night, our backs were against the wall in the 2nd half. Davies was MOM for me and a special mention to Forsyth who played very well and I thought Tom Lawrence had his best game for Derby, even though he should have had a shot with his left foot late on.

A friend watched it on TV and told me Derby played better when Anya came on and we went to a back 4. I watched the last 10 minutes and the inquest on TV and they said we went to a back 4. I thought when Anya came on he just replaced the position that Yman had been in. Funny hair that Andrews has got.

0 - 0 on Monday and I will make my Wembley plans, I've been told we are staying in London for the night. Soho here I come, brace yourselves.

PS Good report Ramdini, well done.

Best of luck in the 2nd leg, Derby.

The more Midlands teams in the PL the better. Dont need another lot of southern wnkrs.

Your kind comments are appreciated VC 10. I'll watch the next leg on Virgin TV but no report though it would be easier than doing it at the ground.

I thought Derby looked more comfortable when Anya came on but shortly after he came on Fulham subbed their two wide attackers, Ayite and Sessegnon and the subs weren't of the same quality so not comparing like with like. Both sets of wide players had an exhausting night. Hope ours recover better than theirs.

Well spotted Spart. Anya played well but when he came on Fulham were pretty well spent. not that we could relax but the tempo had gone out of the game by then.

Whatever the lads have been doing I hope they are recovering and that we have won by the 90 minute mark. Penalties are such a travesty in such a high consequence game

posted on 12/5/18

Last time I checked we have extra time before penalties hence the "advantage" of playing at home 2nd leg.

1 win at craven cottage since 1970 means we are due to win there.
Extra time? We will have it wrapped by half time on Monday with 2 early goals

With the possibility of penalties that may be another reason why he won’t start Vydra. He rarely lasts beyond 70 minutes so he’ll be subbed if he starts as there is no way he’ll manage 120 minutes.
Our best penalty taker should be on the pitch at the end.

I imagine Keogh will be a bit nervy if it gets to him?

If it gets as far as penalties I will be outside with a cask strength Islay Malt for the duration.
