I really don't get dier, solid, but not very good at any one thing imo.

Would still take him as he's versatile...i've been hearing mention of milner in CM aswell...

Dier is pretty underrated imo he’s a great DM and his passing range is decent too ( see his assist for dele against you ).

He’s the best English player in that position and helps he can drop straight into CB for a formation change if needed.

Milner should not be near the squad.

Milners been better than dier this season though, and although retired, why would you say he should not be near the squad and dier should?

Also think Henderson is a better DM than dier.

If I was picking the team right now it would be

Butland
Walker Stones ? Rose
Dier
Henderson Dele
Sterling Kane Vardy

Actually can’t think of another CB atm which is worrying

It’s because you’re completely underrating Dier.

Dier has played DM for a team that just finished 3rd and he had a decent season.

Henderson isnt a DM imo he’s a CM. He had Can around him doing the job Dier would for most of the season.

Yeah maybe on Henderson but CM/DM can be interchangeable.

But my main query was that you said Milner should not be near the squad. Liverpool finished 2 points behind spurs and are in the CLfinal, if we're using their teams of examples as how they have played. Milners been great this season.

If we are playing 3 at the back cahill would be my first choice. But needs to play as the main central centre back. On the sides he's a liability.

Milner isn’t available and tbh I don’t rate him as a DM.

I’d rather put Shelvey in the squad as the league xtra CM.

If Milner hadn't retired he would certainly be picked. He's had a very good season.
