Can you see a high profile player wanting to come and play for Arteta anyway?
If I was being cynical, I would say that sort of the point if hiring a newbie. Look at what is happening to back room staff. Sounds like a complete overhaul. I imagine a few players will leave as well, all the while mislintat and Sanllehi will target the players they want.
A manager like Arteta is perfect for the role. He will sign up and not expect anything like Wengers salary, he will have interviewed with ideas of how to manage the existing team, will have been promised transfers, but will not demand anything more than what he’s got. And, if it all goes wrong, at least behind the scenes change can be made, new players bedded in and new young manager can take the flack. A year or two down the line, big name manager comes in when everything is in place.

Wow our board are awful.

Nah, the people who fall for Sky Sports rumours are awful.
We were spending more than £50m before the renegotiated deals ffs.

Here comes DJ optimism
With no cl money and the insane wages given to Ozil, we will be selling at least one players this summer to generate more funds.
Only players realistically that can generate 40-50M are Bellerin and Ramsey.
Hopefully we will sell Mustafi and a few others instead
"Insane wages" are already covered.
We will be selling players, that is natural for any club bringing in new players.
Doubt we'd make our transfer budget public knowledge, it could be a false leak so selling clubs think we won't spend much. But 2 years with no CL + 2 record signings last season we won't have a huge budget. We can raise another 50m+ getting rid of players we don't want.
I would give him chance but he better improve this squad to work hard and bring in GK and defenders.
Mustafi and Holding should be sold. Mertesacker has retired. Sell Joel campbell finally and Perez. Welbeck should also be sold.
All of that would generate £70-80M
The difference between CL last 16 and Europa semi is very little, if at all.

Either way everyone knows how bad our board have been in recent seasons there's no question about that at all.
Yeah, didn't we get more than man u from European competition?

In what way? Money has been spent.
Arteta and Cazorla as manager and assistant that was our midfield 2014 what’s going on, crikey.

Every way? you must be the only Arsenal fan ever that's not questioning the board? surely common sense would suggest bringing in a decent experienced manager in rather then taking the cheap option.
Not if it doesn't fit the set up. If an experienced manager doesn't want to work in the new set up then it won't work. Common sense should tell you that.
Or should we sack Raul, Sven and Huss now?
Common sense would suggest a big club like Arsenal should be looking for a decent manager that has been there and done that at a time like this to take the club forward. I'm guessing you're absoloutely pleased with how things are at Arsenal and think we will win the league next season? you're also very happy with the current squad?
That can't be serious, that's just taking the absolute piìiiiis
Arsenal should be looking for the best man for the job.
Things are changing, so if I was absolutely pleased with how things are I should be angry...

If you believe Sky. But then we would also have 8 managers, are buying £600m worth of players with that £50m and interested in even more...
We can improve a lot just from coaching, getting the best from the players already here and more modern tactics before we even spend any money.
The board better build a bunker coz this fans are about to explode imo, no one will accept mediocrity for another ten years while we end up fighting for mid table.
