What's his contract situation? he's been rumoured to have wanted out of bayern for quite some time(for whatever reason). Maybe we have organised a swap containing Morata?*fingers crossed*

Would be a top signing for anybody

I think hes 1 year left now that the season is over, I cant imagine Bayern would want him leaving on a free next year so anything over £40M would probably seal it.

He still gets linked occasionally to Real Madrid, but I get the feeling that boat's sailed now.

3 years left on contract.

He’s contracted to 2021 according to Transfermarkt, £40m with 3 years on his deal seems highly unlikely.

I would rather sign Mario Mandzukic as Chelsea forward instead of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich this summer as Chelsea forward.

Lewandowski turns 30 in August, he seems the type who could play at this level until be is 33, maybe more.

Ah ok didn't realise he signed a new deal after his first deal.. He'll be pretty expensive for a 29 year old!

Club not in the market to pay big for someone who is almost 30. This one doesnt happen. Move on.

I can understand why he didn't suit Guardiola, but was rather puzzled when Atlético moved him on at a loss after only one season.

Problem is he's 32, so it would be a big gamble for what would probably only be a short-term fix.

Chelseamf

That's the strange thing, Usually we dont go for expensive older players but there's no smoke without fire so the interest must be there!

Realism

Makes no logical sense from club perspective to spend big on a player without resale value.

With him being 30 then perhaps the club could get him at a discount price?

Or perhaps the club has given them first dibs on one of our players who knows... Could Cesc cut it in the Bundesliga?

Why would Bayern undersell their main CF?
Why would Bayern want Fabregas?

Have enough midfielders better and younger than Fabregas.
Besides, Fabregas is content with living in London.

Who knows, Perhaps they like the look of someone in our squad... Willian, Cesc, Alonso, Christensen or Luiz?

Very possible, Replace Thiago with Baka and Uefa should just give Bayern the CL next season.

Lewandowski clearly wouldn't be a long term signing, as he turns 30 shortly - but he is definitely a step up from what we currently have. However, I have no confidence that our board could negotiate this signing. We seem to go after players who are just not possibly attainable on our budgets. We go after players who have long contracts, and therefore the selling club hold all the cards. We play "hard ball" until the very last minute of the transfer window, and then when it becomes clear that we will not be able to get them - we swoop for someone else like Barkley or Drinkwater at the last minute. Players who won't improve our first team, and we end up in 5th place.

You should go for Icardi. He's a top player and he, Giroud and Morata could give you real alternatives going forward. You also need a coach who like Klopp or Guardiola who gives your flair players freedom to play. Last season, Conte was far more forward thinking and you scored goals - this season, you have Fabregas - a creative midfielder playing in front of the defence and people moaning about a lack of assists. That's the coach, not the player. Fabregas is too slow to play as a sitting midfielder unless you play him like a quarterback and protect him. He has been playing 30 metres too deep this season.
