RW- Willian/Lingard
................
We need better than this.
Willian would be a big improvement for us no question. Not exactly a long term move though is it?
Mata just hasn't got the legs for pl football anymore if he ever did. Ability isn't his issue.
I really like Mata but he has his limitations and seems to have deteriated this season.
If we could get a decent fee for Mata and get Willian at decent price then it could be a good move for us.
Going back to Spain to someone like Sevilla or Valencia could be good for Mata.
Willian is a decent player and will add a lot of energy, wouldn't be against it asking as we kept martial, rashford and Lingard so we aren't swapping youth with 30+ players.
Aslong* and I really like mata but he just doesn't add enough to our game now, slows us down even more.
If we could get a decent fee for Mata and get Willian at decent price then it could be a good move for us.
.............
No it will not be a good move at all. We need better than Willian.
If you want us to continue the way we are, going nowhere, then Willian will be ideal.
I think Willian would be a decent signing.
He would be an improvement as he can actually play RW and stretch that side. Nobody else in our squad can play the position effectively.
I can't think of many other players who are top level at RW who would be available.
I give up.
I really despair with some of you on here. You complain about our poor football and then champion another Jose type signing.

Honest question for United Fans...... With City being so much better than everyone else & seeing how some of your high price buys have played out.,... If ever there was a year or two period to really start overhauling the team, bringing through younger talent etc then maybe this is the time. The same is probably true for the likes of Spurs (Stadium), Chelsea (New stadium to come). The reality is, without spending a fortune you are easily good enough for top 4 and a cup run. My point being, does spending 50mln on Wilian really get you closer to City when you have someone like Jose in charge, what does the United system look like in terms of prospects ? & can a guy like Jose really integrate some young talent into a team for the long term benefit of the club.
Not wumming, genuine question as to how it all relates to the teams behind city. Just wondering if United under this management is all Galactico purchases and nothing else ?
Cheers

Considering even you agree Jose is not going anywhere, then Willian for Mata may be as good as we get with him which is not as horrible as Sanchez for Myhkitarian.
To be honest, Mata was done a few years ago. People just seem to think he is some sort of genius and just couldn't let go of the idea that he was never suited for a system which was not built completely around him.
For me, its actual Mata leaving to make space for Perierra.
Jose is the problem and we are stuck with that problem so it's a very depressing time for us united fans

I don't think that Willian is most people's first choice, but most feel that he would improve our right wing under Jose. If we are to get rid of Jose then other options would be preferable, but he is a player that would likely harvest better results down the right under Jose than any of our current options.

Yeah that's how I see it. Do I want Willian, not really, but it's clear we need improvements on our right which I believe Willian would bring. But I hope and expect us to be going for someone better than Willian. Who that is, I'm not entirely sure and I kind of get the reasoning if Jose does want him. But like the Matic signing, while it would improve us, it is also limiting and I expect more.

So, get someone better than Willian then, because he won't improve us by much at all.

Isn't that what I said?
My bad 82
....
I should have read the rest.
For one we are in agreement then.
The club has lots its way
Willian wouldnt be my first choice but at least the guy has a bit of drive to his game, can beat a man, has plenty of pace and is also a goal threat.
Dunc
He scored the same amount as Lingard with seven more appearances..
Can we have mata back please?
Mata isn't playing well because of the system and his team mates.
If any of our attacking players left they'd improve at another big club.
