If we get to the next round we would have achieved a lot.

I'm hardly England's biggest fan, but i'm not sure why a lot of people seem sure they will exit in the group stages.

Assuming they get beat by Belgium, they've got to beat a Tunisia side who must of the team's players play in the Tunisian and Saudi leagues. Then a Panama team whose best players play for teams that aren't even the best in the MLS. I just can't see even England messing that one up.

I'd say if Colombia top Group H they could be the one's who knock out England, though historically South American teams rarely do well on this continent.

Otherwise it will be the usual knocked out by the first decent team they play, England haven't arguably beaten a heavyweight nation in a major tournament since Argentina in 2002.

Who's going to finished in second in our group? We should be beating Tunisia and Panama, and the Belgium game will be like a Premier League game. I think we've got every chance of at least a draw against Belgium. They undoubtedly have better players but they don't exactly have the best manager in Martinez. It would actually work in our favour to finish second I think.
Group H is one of the most open groups. Any of the four sides could go through. I'd fancy us against Colombia though. I think they're over-reliant on Rodriguez. Also I just have a feeling we will do ourselves proud. There's no real big egos in the squad, Southgate has got rid of the club cliques, and I think our high pressing style will work well. We're certainly not in a position to think about winning the competition but we're in the bets position we've been in a long time to cope with tournament football.
I don't agree the squad is average. Our attacking players are as good as the majority of squads: Kane, Sterling, Alli, Rashford. I also think we have good defenders. It's our midfield that is the worry. Obvioulsy we don't have the "names" we had like Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney etc, but when did that ever work to our benefit?
For once we will playing players that fit in to a certain system, not shoehorning players in because they're the biggest names.
I think we'll get out of the group for sure, but then from the last 16 on it's a lottery.

Win what, the group? They're obviously not $hit, but it will come down to who plays better as a team. I'd imagine there are quite a few egos in the Belgium squad. Hazard won't like being usurped by De Bruyne for instance.

I’d be delighted if we made it to a QF.

Belgium are overrated, the 90’s Spain if you will. On paper they should be top 4 in the world but they just dont have any cohesion. They may top the group but it’s no way a given at all. I just want to see us play with some passion & synergy, we need to start becoming a team. Given that happens, quarters for me

I think us, france or spain will win it seeing as its rare a non european team wins a world cup in europe, think us three are the best placed. Us & France both tend to bottle it though, Spain haven’t in recent times.

Only problem why i can see us coming 2nd is through GD as Belgium do play much more open & will score more.

That was just a worse case scenario situation to emphasize how much of a fook up it would take to not qualify from the group.

I think Belgium will beat England, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a draw.
