Lots of talk around who might be coming in but the fact remains that we are already hugely overburdened in terms of squad size, especially with the returning loanees, and so to thin the squad sufficiently to allow for the youngsters to get a look-in AND bring in some of the players speculated about would be a huge undertaking for any manager, nevermind a complete rookie.
I get that we want to be enthusiastic but ffs people, try to keep some perspective here or you'll all be disappointed before he even takes to the dug out.
Brave appointment, how well it turns out is yet to be seen but I can't fault Mel's optimism.. I'm sure the usual suspects will give it the loud "I told you so, Mel Morris OUT" if it doesn't go as well as we hope it does but, given the list of available managers currently, I think this is as good an appointment as could be. Three year contract says he'll be given the time by the Board, let's hope the toxic element can keep their gobs shut for at least 18 months to let him find his way. With the exception of #CB4 there's nobody in our present midfield set who could be 'a Lampard' so he's got an uphill battle there before he starts.
Good Luck, Frank, and well done Mel.

How long did NLN get before it was proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he was garbage..?
Check my history, you'll find I'm a patient man, even in the face of overwhelming tedium and complete lack of tactical awareness
...and wtf, why has Zidane decided to steal our headline thunder?

I just hope FL is a lucky manager as well as a successful one.
As for JT, if he helps DCFC to be successful then I don't care what he's done, said or alleged to have said or done in the past.
He only has his UEFA B coaching badge :-0
This has got the potential to get very messy. Could this be Derby's David Platt?

Would you have Ched Evans at Derby?

No, he has his B and working towards his A.

"Well I'm doing my coaching badges at the moment. I've spent a lot of time at Chelsea this year, gaining hours of experience," he said. "I've already managed to get my A Licence in coaching. So yes, with the right opportunity and right timing for me, I'd really take a very close look at it."
Now, should we believe the poisonous, envy-ridden fan of the small club with the dour manager and no hope of ever seeing Premier League football in what remains of his pitiful, mis-spent life, or Frank himself...?

Press conference just about to start:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/44316011
It is mandatory to have the A licence to coach in the 2nd tier and takes 2 years to complete.
So one can logically assume he's only just got it, and before the ink is dry has taken the first job offered him in the 2nd tier.
I wonder if he'll have junior in his arm (dressed in a replica kit) when we win the league next May?

Thanks Scouse. Good stuff
I thought Frank came across very well in that press conference; quietly confident, and very much taking ownership of the thing; it was already 'my players' and 'my staff' and 'my decisions'.. nothing he said did anything to change my mind that this could be a very astute appointment by Mel.
And Mel doesn't exactly come across as the foaming mouthed megalomaniac some purport him to be, does he.........
