The first time Mahrez is benched it will be because he’s African.

Race and ethnicity are not the same thing. Yaya should probably have researched this before making his claim.

Yaya is a strange case insofar as he’s always seems to be the victim: he didn’t get this, he didn’t get that; he wanted it like this, he would have preferred if it was like that.
His life is better than 99.9% of the population of the world already. His self entitled demeanour will bring him back down to earth one day when fame and fortune will dry up.
Speaking out against racism is one thing, and should be encouraged, but to do it with only accusations in a half-assed manner does more damage to his own integrity than anything else.
Ex-City players are embraced by our club. The likes of Goater, Dickov, Morrison, and Lake are held in high regard. Unfortunately for Yaya, after 8 great years with us, his antics overshadows his legacy.

“Yaya's last appearance for us will be the Brighton home game next week, as a club legend I'm sure he'll get the send off he deserves (insert your witty cake related jokes here...)

With the unwanted input of his odious agent his time at City has never been as squeaky clean as the likes of Kompany or Silva, but he's still been a monumental player for us”

From an article I wrote before his last game 🤔

The Kompany and Silva part still ringing true.

I will now place Yaya on the same level as Danny Mills and Nigel Clough in the “legends” bracket.

Grated - I agree that ethnicity and race are not the same, but as identities they do overlap significantly.
However I'm not willing to grant 'African' to be a genuine ethnicity, given the size of the continent and the vast number of varied cultures and races within such a broad categorisation x

You're has really let himself down AGAIN.

When I did the stadium tour a couple of years ago the guide said all players get two shirts each game to swap/ raffle for charity etc. Yaya got 3 as he was such a legend. While Yaya was arguably the most influential figure during the rise and success of the project his ego is in a different stratosphere.
Zaba also got less game time as his fantastic time at city grew to a close, understandably.
He will always be welcome, Tanya less so
