He knows the club, proper Arsenal man. Can't get rid if everybody, you need some level of continuity.

Might be quite intelligent. Quite hard to tell without working with him day-to-day.

They’ve had a big clear out, so the club and new staff must be confident he can still bring a lot. He might be more effective now wenger has gone as well. Also like people have said, you want a familiar face to help players through transitioning to whole new coaching set up.

I'm guessing Emery would have interviewed people at the club for whom he had no direct replacement lined up, and Bouldy answered the questions in a way pleasing to the new man.

Bit surprised at Jens leaving so soon though. Wonder what happened there.

shame Lehmanns gone

I’m actually pretty pleased that he’s staying. Its clear under Wenger that he was restricted to being nothing more than a cone pushing water boy.. basically a glove puppet to Arsene!. It’d gone stale. So with the new setup Bouldy will be working along-side Juan Carlos Carcedo, under Emery I think we’ll see them working more as a team themselves. Predict we’ll be seeing good things in terms of coaching at the club moving forwards.

Remember when TV footage picked up what looked like him looking straight at Wenger and saying FFS. Not too long after that it came out in the news that Wenger didnt allow much time on defensive coaching and always wanted to focus on attack. It was also said Wenger did no physical training with the players either and I think there were a couple of other things like that I cant quite remember.

Giving him a chance with a new manager is ok with me.

very important to keep familiar faces in the set up, Moyes got rid of all of Fergie's coaching staff and look what happened there.

If it's a case of ensuring a good transition then we can always replace him in a year or so once the knowledge transfer is complete. On the other hand he could actually be a decent defensive coach if given the chance

Nobody has the expertise that Steve Bould does when it comes to putting out cones...

Yeah but Moyes got rid of decent, successful premier league winning staff.
