On the subject of unproven talent how about this for setting yourself up for a fall. Building up players to meteoric levels is normally the reserve of some of the tabloids, this numpty manages that all by himself. Obviously ‘arry is no stranger to claiming what he thinks is his but to self propel yourself to ‘messi’anic levels appears astonishingly naive, particularly when the inevitable occurs and he’s invisible again for a few key games.

Did I say it was? But let's pretend I did... Even if he has an absolute stormer in the final game of his season, which is unlikely given his anonymous one the other day...

Will it change the fact he's had an excellent season? Will his season be judged by his final performance?

My point was more that comments about a one season wonder would only be valid if he has a poor first few months of next season, and certainly not when his current excellent season isn't even over. Plus there is a considerable difference between the players surrounding him right now compared to the players surrounding him at his club.
