Which surprises me considering how small he looks in the goal. Good athleticism though.

Cudicini and given always seemed to do alright at pens and they were small. I think cabellero is alright too.

Would be fascinating if the system required the manager to take the 12th penalty if it was still all square after all 11 players had taken theirs.

Imagine the scenario if Southgate had to step up to take the potential decider.

Make a great movie if he scored.

He's a canny old fox though, isn't he? It's hardly as if you need to be a physical beast to shoot from 12 yards out.

Love what Tabares has achieved over the years with Uruguay, by the way. They'd been out in the wilderness of int'l footy for what seemed like forever before he turned up. Arguably the best int'l manager out there.

As long is it did decide the game, it would make a great story regardless of the outcome.

What a depressing story though if it was a classic feel good sports movie;

Player misses penalty and kills a nations hopes and dreams
So so career as a manager
Gets the national team job
Guides England to a WC final
Has to take the winning penalty
Misses
Booed by the fans, once again a national let down
Sacked as manager
Manages Wigan
Relegated
Sacked
Goes on Im a Celebrity and gets the p*ss taken out of him by Dean Gaffney

Biggest penalty bottler ever has to be Seedorf. My word.
