Time to sell.
Willian has hit his ceiling to my mind last season (best days behind him), dispensable.
My outlook is any player that doesn't have (significant) capacity to evolve/improve can leave at the right price.
Yep take the money and replace him wisely. Only takes an average season for him to be stuck out of favour, no one wants to buy him and he’s taking up a place on high wages aka the position we found ourselves with Anelka, Malouda
'Strike while the iron is hot' immediately springs to mind.
Starting offers from United & Barca rejected because we know more can be achieved and rule of thumb...never accept first offer.
I really feel like the club are seriously in for Martial and are trying to explore an avenue in which they can send Willian across and get Martial at a greatly reduced price.
If Barca really want Willian I'd be throwing Suarez into the conversation if I was Marina

You're probably right - but I'd be amazed if Barcelona come back with a higher offer than £50M - and I'd hate to sell him to Man Utd.

We would probably be able to still sell to United, this are the club that took on Jose fresh from a relegation dog fight.
Willian to United isn't happening. Just like Sandro to United isn't happening. Or Toby to United isn't Happening.
What Chelseamf said. In pure business terms, if we receive a good offer this is the time to cash in. Pedro's in a similar boat but has less time on his contract and will be better suited to Sarri.
But then again everything about us right now appears to be geared towards keeping Hazard happy and they're mates apparently, so who knows.
No Willian is a better player than some of the recently signed dross like Drinkwater or Bakayako. We need to come in the short term.
Willian to Man U from Chelsea can happen as we are becoming a feeder club of Man U.

I think you need to look up the definition of feeder club.

...........................
How many players have you sold to us recently? I can only think of two.
That tradition looks set to continue with Chelsea having sold Mata and Matic to Man U and we might even sell Willian to Man U which would be a blunder even for 60 million pounds in my view.
Hardly makes you a feeder club to us.
You haven't sold us any world beaters, just players you didn't want anymore.
Agree with VC here. It’s not like we’re selling Hazard to Man Utd
Very few United fans on here want Willian, mainly because of his age and that he isn't good enough on a regular basis. Most of the time he is frustrating as hell.
If we are stupid enough to offer 50 million for him you should be biting our hand off.

All of our sales to United have been on our terms, and none of our connections at United have come back to haunt us. Mata, Matic, Lukaku & Jose have all been meh there (so far).
There's no KDB/Salah feelings of regret regarding any business we've done with them.
Barca already offered £50m, add another 20% tax on top and he’ll be a Utd player next season
It is still not a good trait to have to sell above average and good players like Mata was at the time to Man U.

Depends on your owners financial situation really. If you need the money for someone better then it isn't an issue.
I wouldn't feel much regret about Willian going to rival, I wouldn't be strictly happy about it either. Lukaku, De Bruyne and Salah are all players who have gone to have success, and are all players who would significantly improve the team right now.
Willian is a good player, but overall lacks consistency. He would make a good addition to United, but he will always be a part of the supporting cast rather than the star man.
For me he is always lacked the same kind of drive which is missing from Hazard's game but worse in my opinion. I think he is extremely gifted, but rarely ever takes the game by the scruff of its neck. Usually waits for Hazard or Fabregas to create or dictate the game.
Willian doesn't have the immeasurable talent of Hazard, issue not lack of drive in Willian's case.
Willian has extracted the peak/prime of his ability (& commitment), it's not near Hazards' (who still holds back alot in reserve).

I would disagree.
Willian technically is not that far off some of the best players. He does lack creativity and decision making, but also he just lacks the drive to perform at his best week in week out.
Mertens is a great player, he scores goals and decides matches. Is Willian that far off Mertens technically too?

This is precisely how I feel about Hazard! Great dribbler but breaks down attacks too much for my liking. If Madrid makes a decent offer, we should accept and move on.
