Depends on if he feels he's being nudged out the door, nobody has any inside info as to why the top scorer in the division last season would not be kept, is it money, do we need to sell, is he the type of player that won't fir Franks system, who know.
Personally I'd be delighted if he stayed, if it was a PL team I'd have no problem but Leeds surely would be a step down while with us his career has been resurrected so maybe he owes us another season.
*fits Franks plan's, who knows?
But hey that's how I roll.
I think any players coming in can only happen if Vydra is sold.
Vydra needs to go he's stalling the Lampard revival.
Vydra seems to blow hot and cold. The previous two seasons for us and Reading yielded only 7 goals. He seemed to be going back in to a cold spell at the end of last season so many fans feel it might be best to cash in while his value is high. If we thought he would repeat the form of his earlier games last season the fans would be up in arms about selling him unless it was for silly money to a Premier League club.
Reminds me of when we could have sold Dean Sturridge to Arsenal for 5 Million, (think it was 1999) but we kept him and ended up flogging him to Leicester for about £300k in 2001.
Or Giles Barnes to West Ham for £5M and then getting nothing.
Never mind selling, I fondly remember the days when we brought players like Colin Todd for £180,000!
IMHO Colin Todd was a better player than Bobby Moore. £180k was a lot of money in those days and people were astounded when we got him. What a player.
Have we bought anyone yet and if not why not? The season will soon be upon us and we are not ready. I've started worrying.
It's coming home.
It’s 3 weeks and 3 days until the season starts
Are you not surprised there’s not more activity?

Activity, I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof.
And yet the first two are live on the box and would deffo had gone to the dirties game at any other time but I'm on holiday.
Not worried, we'll be ready to go.

On the flip side, 9 new players, that could go either way.
Language, culture, November all are factors.
We already have a gelled team, a couple of additions and the same from the yourh, hopefully.

I would imagine if you adding 9/10 new players you have to get it done early to get them to gel
While if you need just 1/2 then you can leave it later in the window to get things done.
Should be an interesting couple of weeks
Big outlay and a risk to all that's gone before.
But if you hadn't it would just be empty seats again and attendances seem to excite you now.
As a Ram, I really do hope it's a Greek tragedy

High risk strategy, I agree. Could bring some rewards for Forest if it works out. Spending big has brought mixed results in the passed so it is very much fingers crossed. Breaking back into the top ten would be progress in my eyes. The owners clearly want more, though.
Lampard will surely be given space for at least a few loans from Chelsea? Vydra could create divisions though if he hasn’t got what he wanted from Leeds and feels he isn’t wanted at PP. Lampard isn’t stupid, he will want him gone.

Why are you worried. We have a squad that is already good enough for top 6 with plenty of flexibility for formation changes.
Why do we need to sign anyone?
I don't think the current squad would be good enough to get into the top 6 this season. We need several new younger players and I would like to see something happening soon. We don't want to get off to a bad start and let our "friends" get too cocky.
I thought it was the norm for Forest to get a good start only to be overhauled by us sometime in mid October. That is the cue for their posters the shrink back to their homes in the primeval ooze at the bottom of the Trent.
RD reported this am that Leeds manager had sanctioned the deal. He was also linked with a move to China. Clearly just interested in the $$$$
I hope Martin's diet is going well, it's nicer to eat salad in the hot weather, although it does make you want several beers.
Just as worrying is that we've not heard anything at all on some of the deadwood we do need to shift, we've still got the likes of Butterfield on our books without a single mention of him going elsewhere. He already burned all his bridges here with comments made to the press when going out on loan, so I would have thought there would at least be agent talk linking him we places, trying to build up a bit of hype, but I guess the lack of it tells you all you need to know.
Vydra staying would be problematic from a financial point of view, and means Lampard won't really be able to stamp his mark on the team. In the delay a lot of other teams have already snapped up the more interesting players, while we seem to be relying on pushing this through. We seem behind, although the cynical side of me wonders if Leeds know that and are stalling it on purpose or had no real interest in the first place. The advantage of Vydra staying is that a more settled team has already gelled and likely to give Lampard an easier start, although the aforementioned returning loanees might unsettle things a bit.
I was thinking of Vydra when I was watching Hazard last night. If Hazard who is a number 10 for Chelsea can play left wing, why can't Vydra? I think Lampard will play a 4-3-3 so if he doesn't go to dirty Leeds he will have to alter his game. He's got plenty of pace so why can't he play on the wing?
P.S. Wasn't that Lukaku useless last night, he did nothing in the whole game while Giroud worked his socks off. Lukaku is a flat track bully and will never be top class.
I'd have him at Derby though.
