How this thread will pan out.......

Spurs fan will sat Wenger is a failure
Arsenal fan will respond with Spurs are bottlers
Few more comments on it.
Will then become a Spurs/Liverpool argument thread

As an England fan not really bothered who is involved but knowing Wenger he would want full control .

You mean make him the new manager

But he would have a lot to add for sure especially Understanding the need for more flair and playing expansive football.

Not manager but assist in developing more technical players which i believe England have lacked for a very long time

Like how he developed Walcott and Ox?

He hasn't developed any technical players in a very long time either.

All their best ones we're bought, the ones that stuck around long enough from a young age in the last decade either stalled and never progressed, or just got downright worse.

Wenger is a facking failure, shouldn't be near the England set up if we wanna achieve something.

Neither should Southgate then, poor club manager.

He's already said he has no interest in international management as it's so limited in terms of player development time. Also he's hugely passed it and wouldn't be a good appointment anyway.

Wenger got stale at Arsenal a new challenge with England could work. He has done a lot for Arsenal I don't we can over look his good work just because of the last few years. Just my opinion. I don't like the man but I can acknowledge his achievements .

posted on 13/7/18

How long would he actually get to work with players in the England set up though? A few weeks a year spread out during the International breaks, and about 3 weeks before each tournament?
He can't just hang around other clubs training grounds having 1 to 1 sessions with the English players throughout the season.

Wenger is not a youth coach. Those attributes are developed at a young age and honed in as a player developes.
More to do with our youth coaches and psych in this country.

Whinger is one of the major reasons the England cupboard is so bare, years and years of fielding 11 foreigners in the Goonz team has hindered England.

Players develop at clubs not with the national team.

In fairness, Wenger predicted that Walker was the weak link in England defence and couldn't understand why Dier got dropped.
Wallker was at fault for Croatia first goal. A proper CB would have protected the ball with his body rather than trying to head it at knee high

He gave them Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole, two of the best players in the world in their position, didn't pay a single penny for either. Not sure what more you could want him to do tbh.

Sol Campbell came through the Tottenham youth system. Ashley Cole stopped playing for Arsenal about 15 yrs ago.

Southgate did a great job and should stay in the job. Can't believe people are saying he could/should be sacked. Germany had Joachim Low for 12 years and look what he achieved in that time.
