Colback

In what way is he a better player than Bridcutt, who is also a box to box midfielder and scored a very cultured goal in the one game that Karanka played him in?

He [Colback] isn't about to moderate his insane wage demands so move on. If he desparately wanted to play for us, he would have signed by now and be training in Spain.

He isn't that proves it's all about the money so lets move on.

I think he is better than Bridcutt. Has more experience and played at a higher level. He can command good wages for a reason.

Do you really think all of he forest squad are here cause they have always been in love with Forest? They are paying them what they think they are worth! Colback is entitled to had our for us much as he can get. He would be stupid not too wouldn’t he? Would t you do the same?

You both make very salient points, but tbh I don’t think anyone is going to pay Colback the wages he seems to be demanding other than Newcastle of course. Jack must decide on whether wages out strip ambition or where the compromise lies. He would be a good acquisition to the squad, but unlike last season he is no longer essential. The situation needs resolving soonest, make a final offer, that is realistic to both parties, and if he says no, walk away. We now have good cover in midfield and tbh he didn’t pull up any trees last season imo, was solid and reliable, but certainly not worth breaking the bank/wage structure for.

I think he will be invaluable over a whole season.

He is not going to sign now (unless we pay him exactly what he is asking for) he will wait longer to see what his options are. His agent will be telling him if others are interested. He is too good a player to not have options.

Assuming we play 4-2-3-1

Watson, Osborn, Pep, and Bridcutt already covering the two Central positions my feelings are we are in more need for cover on the fullback positions

Although I do feel a little greedy even thinking about wanting more new players! We have been proper spoilt so far

I think CM is our weakest area.

I rate Watson, Bridcutt's solid cover, but Osborn can't do the DM job (so far) and Gueddy looked poor last season.

I'd say DM is our most important remaining unfilled position. I'd even say we need cover for Watson and I would consider letting Guedioura go, if he doesn't improve after pre-season.

As much as I'd love Byram here, I think a good pre-season would see Gabriel as back up for RB. Cash could also do a job.

Even at LB, Osborn could cover Robinson.

In a perfect world, I'd reinforce in this order: DM, CM, LB, G (would be great for Smith to have a full season on loan somewhere), RB, FWD (although it looks like Murphy is staying, so we have 4) and AM (although I think Lolley could do a job there and possibly one of the other new signings outside of Carvalho).

I wonder if we are in for Vukcevic? I also wonder if the slow departure of players and associated revenue, has potentially slowed the influx, as targets have had to shift.

Vukcevic, Marney (L), Byram (L) and Mings (L). I feel that would complete our squad.

Marriot, Tomlin and Varela?! Absolute overkill, but it's not my money.

If only there was already a thread for transfer talk...😕

My mate is a season ticket holder and doesn't rate Colback particularly; I think for the money he is obviously after, he needs to score more goals. One in thirteen games isn't enough.

We can't afford to be indecisive because the buying window closes Aug 12th? Is there a loan window anymore?

Are HITC reliable?

Brilliant piece of business, season long loan with a view to make the move permanent at the end, win, win, win. Premiership quality for basically nothing. As stated a RB and we should be in a position to really push on, even with no more signings (which I doubt), we have to be optimistic. 👍

Great signing, really pleased with that. Guaranteed quality at this level. Won’t win us promotion single handedly but it’s a position we don’t have to worry about now and he will add a lot in he dressI guess room too!
