Not everyone that goes on Tuesday is a plastic supporter, but there will be a higher percentage than normal. I think the majority who aren't members are plastic, although I will give you there will be a few that aren't. It's in their own interests if they're fairly regular attenders (even 7-10 games a season) to have membership, so you don't risk not getting tickets for big games. But people who live in Leeds or near and go to the Man U game, and they go to maybe 1-2 other games a season, they are the plastic supporters.

So if your not plastic, why does the average crowd not average nearer 30k??? If you really care you would go to more than a big cup game!!!

Bit unfair that Cas, though i do agree with what Bruv says, None of us know the circumstances that individual fans have.
I know if i lived in Leeds i'd be a member and get to as many games as i could, within my means

I'm a non-member because i don't see the benefit as i cannot realistically attend away games so don't see the point. Also the priority booking period is not a benefit in the championship anyway because we rarely sell out and are even struggling for a big cup tie.

If you are a passionate Leeds fan yet can only afford a certain amount of games a season then it would make sense to watch Man utd on TV and go to the Pompey game. Although the atmosphere alone at capacity games especially against a team we hate is a big pull as the enjoyment is usually greater.

Go to as many of the games you can afford.

There's no one on this site a bigger Leeds fan than any other, it's in you! You can be sitting in a tree house in Indonesia or a mansion in LA and be as big a fan as any of those that sit in the North East Upper, the Kop or the West Stand week in week out.

There's bigger gobs mind!

There's plenty on here that are 'wannabe' Leeds Fans.

If you're a Leeds United fan it doesn't matter how many games you attend, you're a Leeds fan, simple as!

I'm not to close to ER, if I was then maybe I'd get there as often as my pocket allowed!..

Having said that, some people earn a decent living, and they have a bit left over,(I'll bet some that earn what some thimk is decent don't earn enough to get them to as many as someone that earns a little more!)

So, the guy that don't earn to much, and the one on the dole, and the one who got mugged two days before the next game,(oh and them with Families!) well, try telling them they aren't as true a fan as the well off!..

So, all them calling the dreaded "plastic". come on, let us know, are you a decent earner or do you have to think about what you do with your pennys?..

A low earner, a man on the dole, the Police are looking for the mugger, and him with the Family, they are just as big a fan as anyone on these boards, unles your Big Ken that is!..

What that criteria is, is up for debate

But everyone supports the club in different ways,

Bless.

Supporting the club is one thing, turning up for one game a season is another

How do you mean? Are you saying that a Leeds fan that goes to one game a season, because he lives in Australia and is only over here once in a blue moon, is less of a Leeds fan than a boy from Walsall that attends games, when he can be bothered?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Have you voted with your feet?

Mr Onion,

Once again you are showing your hypocrisy, it wasn't to long ago you were calling others fake fans cos their comments disagreed with yours.

I said before you just jump on others comments and use'em to try and make yourself look intelligent, but you keep putting yourself in it.

You really need to converse with yourself and make ya mind up. Are you Gemini by chance?

If someone actually genuinely follows the teams results, performances etc. but only makes it to 5 or so games a season, then fair enough.

Just the fact that you are registered on this website shows you follow the team, even if you don't get to games. No-one on this Leeds forum are 'plastic fans'.

There will be a lot of people at the game on Tuesday who don't actively follow the team, don't know many of the players and the only game they went to last season was the Arsenal game.

posted on 19/9/11

IMO a FAN ( FANATIC !!) is someone who follows the team reads up about them, has banter with ie/her mates, whatches out for results on the telly & maybe buys a scarf or a car sticker etc......a SUPPORTER is a person who actually supports a club, who turns up at the games, one who puts regular monies into the club TO ACTUALLY HELP IN THE RUNING !!!
But that does not mean a supporter is more is more of a fan than a fan !!!!

i was considered plastic 2 years ago because i was skint (only 17 at the time) but last year got some money membership and went home and away got a season this season just before i became jobless but still went to games! people who blame distance look for the local supporters coach! if its a money issue then it can't be helped!

Go to as many or as few games as you like, you can still be a Leeds fan. Some people are more vociferous in their support than others but that's their choice.

...the fact that you are registered on this website shows you follow the team...

Where does that leave Bluememe?

leedssdeel

Being vociferous simply means you're vociferous!

BATTYWACK

It makes you a Leeds fan, same as all of us.

Eric, it doesn't matter what you think of certain posters on here, if you actively follow the team (which includes being on this site) then you're a supporter. People that aren't, are the ones who will be at the game tomorrow but not recognise certain players, not know whether we won the last game, not know where we finished last season and will complain at the players whenever a first touch is poor because they expect everyone to be Prem standard.

A Leeds United fan is a Leeds United fan, however you look at it.
