Mourinho says Liverpool MUST win the league

I took from Jose's comments he was saying to the press they must "be fair" - meaning they must be prepared to give Liverpool the same level of criticism they've given Utd if they fail to achieve anything in the league, given their spending. And he's probably right.

based on the interview I saw and not taking into account newspaper headlines I agree with Jose that Liverpool should come under the same level of criticism from the pundits after spending large sums of money. but I doubt that will happen with the likes of redknapp, souness, carragher, murphy, owen, Thompson etc in the chair

Why? They haven't spent even close to the same amount...

He always worried about what everyone else is doing and what he thinks they should be doing isnt he.

The refs, the FA, players, managers, groundsmen, repoters, interviewers, newspapers, tv and even fvcking Doctors.

Then he'll go into massive monologues like his cringe 14 minute interview last season where he managed to answer two questions.

Klopp was asked his thoughts on this actually. You got a simple;

'I dont care'

I'd be more than happy if Dalot, Fred and resigning Fellaini was the end of their business this summer.

and how did both clubs fund their expenditure?

posted on 27/7/18

Doesn't matter how you fund it really.

End of the day Utd have a more expensive squad (and I suspect Liverpool will be selling a few before deadline day) and a bigger wage bill. It's just the normal Mourinho bollox as per.

Largely with income earned I'd imagine.

It does.

Imagine two men went to buy the latest Playstation or X-Box and one had enough money but the other had to sell his TV in order to make the purchase, who would you say has it worse?

United can add layers to the existing squad whereas Klopp has had to let go off key assets in order to fund his - assets that will need replacing.

Whats the point of buying a console without a TV?

Not bothered about net spend personally, I think it's bollox.

Clubs have income and expenditure - Fin.

What does matter is how much a squad costs and what they get paid and Utd are comfortably ahead in both which kind of blows his nonsense out of the water.

It doesn't matter in footballing terms, but when assessing managers, it's wholly relevant for the obvious reason that some managers can only operate on a sell to buy basis.

Were not operating on a sell to buy policy any more than anyone else in the Prem. Either way its moot as Jose has a vastly more expensive squad on a lot higher wages.

He's just crying as he does in his third season. Got a facking potato farm on his shoulder.

The net figures say the opposite.

No its doesnt. It just says that we turn over other clubs and that increases our overall income. I dont know why I have to keep saying this but there is not a petty cash tin marked 'transfers' and some sh!tty excel spreadsheet.

Income from transfers is no more relevant than tv money or match day revenue. Its just income.

That analogy doesn't work because it's not just income in the equation. You're also factoring in the loss of your player.

I don't think the names on the hoardings have quite the same impact.

It's not an analogy, it's just a fact. You could maybe make a case for someone like Coutinho but you cant reasonably start citing the loss of players that we don't even want
