I'm a big fan of Roberts, and think he has huge potential, but unless Brendan thinks he can be as effective on the left I'm not sure it makes sense to spend that kind of money on him at this time.

At the moment Forrest is the better overall player.

Was told that we are looking to bring in 2 defenders and one midfielder, and don't be surprised if Paddy Roberts arrived as well, one of the defenders is supposed to be Deynar. Personally I don't understand why we are bringing in Arzani if we are also bringing in PR? Not like Brendan is going to drop Forrest for either of them? Anyway no doubt it's just the usual rumour mill, still would love to see PR back on a permanent deal this time

(Although in my book Sinclair is still a very good player for us) Roberts can play the no 10 as well though - we were flying when we had a choice of Rogic or Roberts to open teams up.

Robert is more versatile than Forrest and could play in the Rogic role when needed.

I wouldn't play him left or right. Get him down the middle, rotate him and Rogic.

It’s crossed my mind that Dembele may be sold and bringing in Edouard and Roberts would keep everyone happy and still make sure Celtic have real threat and quality up front

And who would buy Dembele just now with his injury record?

He won't come back. He said he wants a new challenge

We're in a awkward spot with Dembele right now, we know the Celtic transfer strategy, buy young & cheap, sell high.

I think now is the time we will have planned to move Moussa on but due to injuries and last seasons sporadic form we won't we won't achieve his true value if we sell now.

Theres 3 ways it could go, we sell this transfer window for less that he's potentially worth.

Offer him a big new contract to tie him down for another 4-5 years and look to recoup that money a couple of years down the line.(my preferred option)

Worst case scenario from Celtic's point of view is Moussa runs down his contract and leaves on the cheap or on a free although he still has 2 years so he'd be losing out on a lot of wages over the next 24 months if he choose to do that.

I must admit I'm not as excited at the prospect as I thought I would be. It would feel a bit like we were his only decent option. If it was permanent fine but if it's another loan I would rather not bother.

Agree, permanent move I'd be keen on, but I want some commitment from him if he comes back so no loans.

I think I read that he was open to a permanent deal last time round but city weren’t - not a lot he can do if the club he’s with wouldn’t sell.

That ship has sailed as far as I am concerned. Thought he was supposed to be going to some mid ranking EPL team (Leicester????) a wee while ago.

Musonda & Roberts (injured) last year never worked out. Let's move on. Denayer would be welcome back if there's any truth in the rumours.

Seriously Izzy ? Roberts is an outstanding player - injured for the large part of last season but his contribution in the season before was incredible. It’s a win win in terms of what he can bring to the team and his resale value.
