Got a feeling Sarri is going down the Klopp route of getting main targets or waiting until they or someone of similar ilk becomes available.
Don't know if I prefer that tbh, under Conte going down to plan C/D worked a treat the first season but was a disaster the second season.
Sarri's not getting his main targets, feels similar to Conte in the transfer market not being backed and therefore having to work with this pathetic squad bar a few outstanding players.
Linked to so many players but have only signed Jorginho of note.
Calm down dears ,calm down,I for one am not too bothered with yesterdays game,it was not that important, and we lost to a good team.
I expect us to make at least one signing this week, and Sarri is no mug,it's just a matter of being patient for the time being .

I hope you're right as at the moment and going on history I'd say we are in for a pretty poor season
for example, who on earth are we realistically signing upfront? we are desperate for a striker and no one is being linked in the media apart from Higuain and Lewandoski..
and 1 of them is 100% not coming and Higuain had moved to Milan on loan

The squad while not amazing is better than people try and make out, especially the crew that try to make out the manager's can do no wrong.
Liverpool's transfer window has propelled them above us as far as this season goes, but is the squad we are starting the season with really that much worse than the Liverpool one that made the CL final? If we signed Robertson from Hull for £7m these boards would be in meltdown and have branded him Papy mark 2, but a year with Klopp and he's the best LB in the league.
Im not expecting the title, but I ain't expecting 3 wins in as many months either.
Don't pee off your best players would be my first intruction to any new manager.

Klopp has addressed the problems Liverpool had previously, i.e. Moreno terrible LB, no leader at the back, no defensive midfielders, goalkeeper issue.
Whereas we have not addressed ours, i.e. Morata still up front, terrible LB in Alonso, unreliable CB pairing in Rudiger and Luiz, no goal threat from midfield.

Yeah he did, yet he still got to the CL final with the latter two issues still prominent. Bottom line is we have a top class core of players (probably as good if not better than City in that regard) and flawed but coachable players alongside that.
Ill never demand titles (didn't even do that with the old guard bang in their pomp) but I want us to get good out of what we have got, and we are more than capable of a top four finish,
Coming in,I would like Martial,Zaha, maybe even Ramsey.
Going out,I would say Morata,Bakayoko, possibly Fabrigas.
An interesting week coming up.

Liverpool had the ability to score more goals than the opposition with their front 3 as to why they got so far in the CL, we don't.
2/3 of our players would make the City team, so we're not even close to them.

It's difficult to know exactly who is in charge of transfers at Chelsea and it's worrying that we didn't bring in a DOF over the summer because we really are rudderless when it comes to direction of which players we should and shouldn't buy.
Morata and Bakayoko should have been shown the door this summer and the money recouped from selling them could have brought in a very good striker at least.
I really don't expect too much from this season with the club as clueless in player recruitment as they are these days.

I wouldn’t consider myself a man who demands much, but it is disgraceful how the board haven’t sold our squad and bought a new one yet.

You are one sassy b!tch these days
Ill answer this for you
Where are we going? - Hard to say, the goal for a number of years now is to be self sufficient and not rely on Roman, this ultimately is the case now however we simply dont have the available funds to spend huge amounts on players. the last 2 seasons fees have sky rocketed, this probably wasn't accounted for which means we have fallen behind our rivals and unable to compete financially.
What are our intentions? see above, however a series of bad decisions with managers and transfers has set us back a few windows. Most notably the keeping Conte on for his second season was a stupid decision knowing he was unhappy, the panic signings of quite frankly embarrassing players like Drinkwater and bakayoko for large sums of cash coupled with the absolute refusal to blood youth has caused us a big problem. our intentions and the managers we appoint are too far apart.
Where do we want to be? we we cant challenge for titles realistically from now on, Conte worked wonders with us but we performed at a higher level than our squad capabilities and had no European distractions. last year was more like where we are, 30 points behind and lagging behind clubs like spurs and liverpool because of their long term plans being executed and delivered very well.
Will we be competitive?

Will we be competitive?
NO probably not at the moment, too many question marks over our top players and a new season, new manager and new philosophy, long term i think we can hope to be in and around spurs and pool should we keep with Sarri and let him build something.
United and City will continue to buy their way to the top and inflate transfer fees, and if united get rid of jose then they will be a real force as well.
the reality is we we dont really have a direction any more and any planned direction is quickly curtailed by changes of managers / falling out with them and then panicking.
If however the appointment of Sarri is a changing of the tide then i am all for waiting to see what her does , we absolutely must trust in younger players which will save on buying bang average sqaud players
why cant Chelsea just fire all the forking sofa managers/ whiney fans who have only know success at Chelsea and just make do wit the ones that support the team and not the trainer/coaches or bosses or DOF´s. so tired of hearing our own fans writing us off after what i recall as the shortest preseason weve ever had. it may take a while to get going but so did contes first title.
I wrote this season off in like May
Sticking to that
Your team is still a good one and after City the second best in my opinion.
You have still Hazard and Kante to come back and they are two of the best in the world in their position.
A midfield of Jorginho, Kante and Barkley will be a good one.
Give Sarri the time and you will see good quality football.
Give Sarri the time and you will see good quality football.

Nobody is denying this though. This really has nothing to do with the manager. Especially one who has admitted that he pretty much could care less about the transfer market and just wants to coach.
This is about the club being not very good at all in player recruitment these days as well as hanging on to players that desperately need to be sold.
Unless there is a positive change behind the scenes or a good DOF is appointed for example then we're going to continue heading in a strange course that won't see us realistically compete for the title again anytime soon.

I feel sorry for Sarri. It kind of feels like hes been mugged off aswel just like Mourinho and just like Conte.

That's two thirds of a good midfield - I have little faith in Barkley. But I agree, Kante will make a huge difference, as will Hazard of course. It's not doom and gloom, after being beaten by Man City. We are not going to be challenging for the title this year, but it would be nice to challenge for the top 4. Not sure we are quite good enough for that though - this could be a rebuilding season for Sarri - and he deserves some patience from fans.
We will probably pay more for Zaha than we will sell Hazard for.
