You got to do the spurs way and buy no one
predicting West ham to get 6th is hardly groundbreaking. Leicester winning the league was a one off but shows that the top 6 is certainly breakable.
the fact that the bookies have us at 8/1 for 6th place tells us that you cannot categorically rule it out
City, bear in mind no club has defended the title in the last five years would have immense pressure to do it again. Pressure is a funny thing and I can see them slip in the last third of the season.
I can see the chasing pack of Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Spurs giving City a run for their money.
It won’t be City running away with it.
In the end, it will be down to players with experience and freshness in the business end which will make a difference.
Injury and staying fresh going to be key.
A lot of games will be played inc Europe, FA cup and etc
So depth in squad is more important than having a first eleven of prima donnas

Think West Ham have a very good squad and if you start the season with a win on Sunday or a draw then it will set the tone for you guys
West Ham are definitely candidates for 6/7th place.π
Thanks Morespurs
Tough start against pool but could be a good time to play them. Would take a draw
Interesting that the ONLY fans here who have chosen their own team over City is Spurs. The only team yet to make a signing
Yet the "this is our year" will be thrown at us even though GB is probably the only fan you'll find who will say we are going to win it.
For me, anyone who predicts someone other than City to win it is deluded. Not saying they 100% will but as a prediction, the only sensible option is them.

It’s gonna be hilarious if Liverpool get nowhere near it with all these pundits going nuts for them as usual
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What do you mean as usual? The same pundits for the same article they did last summer had us just scraping 4th with a fair few predicting us 5th and 6th.
It's rare for every pundit to have only 2 teams in first and second. Even a fair chunk of opposition fans on here have us as the main challenger to City.
Obviously, football doesn't always work out like you expect but I find it embarrassing that certain fans are making out like we are deluded to think we will do well this year when so many non-Liverpool fans think so as well.

Man City 90
Chelsea 85
Spurs 80
Liverpool 78

United 70
Arsenal 62
Something along those lines. As long as Kepa settles quickly Chelsea will push City close, their midfield (Kante/Jorginho/Kovacic) will be class and Hazard looked unstoppable at the World Cup. City surely can’t get 100 points again, and I’d expect their 90th minute winners to dry up slightly.
Spurs as usual will be underestimated by everyone, but our squad is still very strong and moving back to a proper home ground is worth 5-10 points. I’d tip any squad with Lloris, Jan, Eriksen, Dele, Son and Kane to finish top 3. Kane I think will score 30+.
Liverpool have strengthened well but I do expect Salah’s goals to dry up slightly, maybe only 15-20 this year. Still comfortably enough for top 4 and maybe another cup run in Europe.
Looks like Mourinho has lost the plot. Also, United relied on De Gea a lot last year, who was abysmal at the World Cup.
Arsenal have a weak squad, an unsettled defence and will lose the midfield battle against most of the top 6. Have a hunch that Wenger was better than their terrible fans gave him credit for. They’ll go back before they go forwards, like United after Fergie left.
Chelsea will finish in top 4 only if we sign a decent midfielder who scores goals,a great winger and one great striker who is much better than all the present Chelsea strikers. We also need one defender to replace David Luiz and Gary Cahill. Our team is poor and we should have sold Willian for 65 million pounds to Barcelona but thankfully we didn't sell him to Man U r e.

"moving back to a proper home ground is worth 5-10 points"
Totally unsubstantiated and completely illogical.
Also, Salah scored so many goals largely because of how we play. While it may drop slightly, there is no way he is only getting 15-20. Injury aside.

Not that illogical to be honest. Last time Spurs played at home they won 17 and drew 2. Last season the first 3 home games were a loss to Chelsea and draws to Swansea and Burnley. Can’t see that happening at WHL, so that’s an extra 5+ points right there.
I just think Salah won’t repeat last season’s 30 goals, we might have to agree to disagree on that. He’s never come close to those numbers before, makes sense to predict a slight reversion to the mean.
Arsenal and possibly Chelsea will suffer with Europa. I expect them, or especially Arsenal, to get far in the competition at which point priority for getting into the CL will switch to winning the competition, rather than top 4.
Why do Liverpool fans get upset when someone doesn't put them in the top 2? Not even upset either. They kick off with the personal insults.

Salah is getting nearer his prime so a reversion to the mean wont make sense. At most you should use a moving average. But my main point is that he suits our style so well. While we continue to play like this I honestly can't see him dropping below 20 goals.
Also, you quoted the 3 results of a Chelsea loss and draws to Swansea and Burnley as if they are unusual results. The draw to Swansea a little maybe but the other 2 results are hardly unexpected. Home form is all about the support from fans not the actual grass you run around on.
