Chelsea will tell you they’re glad to be rid of Courtois; and I don’t disbelieve them, but a new keeper in a new league? Even the goat got criticism when he arrived on our leafy, branchy, sandy, rocky shores.
Rodrigo, who I don’t recall seeing play, is a great signing; based purely on the fact the papers said Pep wanted him.
Compared to Fred’s YouTube montage, Jorginho looks waaaaank, but yes, Chelsea could be strong this season now Courtois has stopped rotting the whole barrel.
No, we will need a year to get accustomed to such a change of style. The pre season distractions makes it harder. City and Liverpool seem nailed on for top two this season but we will put up a fight next season.

When did Lev Yashin play in our league?
After buying the Spanish 3rd choice keeper and some Real benchwarmer?
Top 4 at best for us. We'll need a couple of months to get used to Sarri's tactics. Right now our team is a mess tactically.

Not sure if you were about, but it was the time he was sucking De Gea’s dentist’s dog’s dck.
Also did you know that Ken Dodd’s dad’s dog is dead?

2nd choice actually, and there's rumours Hierro strongly considered making him #1 after DDG unleashed his inner Tiabi in the group stage.
Chelsea won’t make top4 this season.

Probably a WUM, but why is Alisson seen as an excellent signing and a proven top quality player with 37 Serie A appearances in the last two years whereas Kepa, with 53 La Liga appearances in the last two years, while two years younger, is seen as some risky unknown quantity?
I personally think both keepers will be excellent for their clubs this season.
A midfield of Jorginho, Kante & Kovacic with Hazard & Willian in wide areas is a problem.....
They have a really good manager, top players and a lot of experience. Bit worried about them tbh
Chelsea will be good this season but not good enough to challenge for the title. I think 3rd/4th/5th will be where they finish and it might take them some time to get going properly.
I agree with Randomer too. Kepa is seen as a huge talent and Chelsea have done very well to replace Courtois with him, he will take a little while to adjust but once he does they’ll have a great keeper.
Also Chelsea are shy a goal scorer. Morata is a good player who had a poor season last year but he’s never really been an elite goalscorer. They need one of those before they can really compete for me.
Tiddles 3rd is a good target for us and well within reach if we adapt well.

Very achievable with spurs standing still, united struggling to bring people in and with the Jose issues and arsenal still with a relatively poor squad imo.
I think it might be a very inconsistent period till Xmas, then i expect your second half of the season to be very good.
Kepa and Jorginho are great signings, Kovacic is decent and adds to your midfield which was looking poor last season.
I do think us and City are going to run away from the rest of the pack a little this season though.
Pretty much exactly what I’ve been thinking Tiddles. I see us having a difficult start, but if we can manage to be within reach of 4th at Christmas I think we’ll make up a lot ground in the second half of the season.
Can see Utd having a bit of a nightmare this year with Jose already talking about a potentially difficult season, he was doing that during the final pre season of his time here, bad sign.
Spurs have a great team and manager but as you say have stood still which could have a negative effect on the motivation of their current players and Arsenal have even more ground to make up than us, with arguably lesser signings.
Agree that City and Liverpool with settled squads/managers and quality additions (I think City might make one more before the deadline) should be the top two this season.
Yeah pretty much randomer
I rate spurs team and i like their manager but they came 3rd last season and haven’t added anything. They’re a side who continue to fall just short yet haven’t added anything to push them over the top. So think they could have a difficult season ahead.
I really like the signings you guys have made and if you get Fekir too you’ll have an excellent squad and a very good manager.
I’d love us to sign Fekir but that knee situation is worrying

Not sure about the original comment but generally speaking Alisson is viewed as an excellent signing for a couple of reasons, he’s keeping Ederson out of the Brazil team and, more importantly, he’s a vast improvement on Liverpool’s options last season.
Kepa will really have to impress to be considered an upgrade on Courtois. Plus I think there’s an element of the unknown with Kepa; most football fan are aware of Alisson because of the Brazil national team and Roma’s CL run. Not sure many would have been that aware of Kepa, unless avid watchers of La Liga, so the unknown will always feel riskier.

Places a greater emphasis on Hazard I’d have thought. Giroud and Morata are both capable of getting around 15 across the season, if Hazard can get around 25 and everyone else chips in then it’s looking ok I’d have thought?

I think De Gea is the only top keeper of the top of my head to have been utter garbage when he first joined.
I think we all still see the PL as this strong physical league when in reality the top 6 are made up of very technical players and the rest below them are a long way off in terms of quality.

Don’t necessarily think he will but I certainly think he’s capable of it. He gets circa 15 a year (league) under Mourinho and Conte - it’s not a huge stretch to think he can get 10 more under a more attacking coach.
