Everyone will be on board once the season starts.
Expect a few rants between now and then

What kind of late life delusion is this?! How is Llorente going to up his game by 20% ffs... Give it a rest - we are capable of getting top four and that's as far as our ambitions will go this season.

What's the point in saving money when we don't spend it? By the time we do start spending it, it will be too late, because we'll be spending it to replace our star players who have left.

Llorente was absolute pants last season, but he used to have something in his locker, so not to say he will not score a few next season if required.

You seem to be so negative, not sure why, CL and the new stadium is about as good as it gets.

They were all supposed to be leaving this coming season. Thus far none have left, and none will in the future. You believe to much media trash that is put out 24/7.

So because it hasn't happened this window, it's never going to happen? Walker already left, Rose has talked about his disappointment at the club. Kane has spoken at how he wishes to win trophies. If we keep remaining ambitionless and trophyless these players are going to leave, as is the manager.

Not even looking forward to Saturday sandy. Totally pi** off with this club and Levy. Zero signings - absolute pathetic!!! Moving into our new stadium with not 1 single incoming, whilst everyone else has improved. Played Levy

Because Sandy, I realise that we've got a great set of players and the team needs just a couple of quality additions to really push for something great.

Continuing the way we are and lacking ambition to improve will end in one way and one way only - player's and coaching staff eventually leaving.

Who knows how long it will then take to rebuild especially with our approach to transfers. We've been fortunate to have players like Kane develop the way they have and to buy players like Alderweireld and Eriksen during times where you could get genuine value.

Rebuilding in the future will not only take time but cost us dearly. Why not go all out on two players instead of buying eight in the future and to replace leavers no less rather than adding to the talents.

And he'll replace with mediocre looking targets. Next year Grealish will be able to be our Alli replacement.

Sandy’s about the only one speaking any sense on here at the moment.

Last season: replaced Walker with Aurier (IMO a downgrade), bought Llorente, Foyth, Lucas and Gazzaniga who had zero immediate impact and found a gem in Sanchez. Qualified for the CL with ease, beat Real Madrid, unlucky to lose to Juventus, one game from an FA Cup final.

This season our young squad is more experienced, proved their class at the World Cup and are back at an actual home ground. But everyone’s losing their sh*t because we haven’t bought the latest shiny toy. Consumer culture at it again.

Who proved their class at the World Cup... you're not talking about our English players are you?

The ones that beat international heavyweights Panama and lost to the two decent opponents we had in Belgium and Croatia

Ffs.

Trippier
Kane
Verts
Toby
Lloris
Son

All had fantastic world cups. Where have you been?

posted on 9/8/18

You expect most players at top teams to be playing well. Kane didn't do anything amazing - yes he won top scorer but a hattrick against Panama got him there.

Plus, all the other players mentioned are not the stars in their respective countries bar Son in a terrible Korean side.

France won it because of players like Mbappe, Greizmann and Kante. Beligum done well because of players like Hazard and De Bruyne.

That's what we need. One or two players with game changing potential to take us over the line because we already have a solid core of players like the ones you mentioned.

posted on 9/8/18

Sandy, top clubs win things because every summer they try to add one or more world class players to the team. It's what Man Utd did all those years under Ferguson when they were dominating. It's what Man City are doing now. You need a lot of money to do this granted.

But it is naive to think that we will ever win the league or Champions League thanks to buying young promising players and bringing through the occasional academy player.

And while we continue to neglect the two realistic chances we have of winning a trophy (League Cup and FA Cup) we will continue to be trophyless.

Yeah problem is there’s only maybe 10 players of that quality in the world and they all already play for Barca, Madrid etc.

I would have liked a CM. Don’t know who though. Apart from that who can we sign that definitely won’t just end up as deadwood in a year’s time (Janssen, Sissoko, Llorente etc)? Easy to say let’s sign X or Y but it’s not that easy really is it?
