Nitty Gritty refers to the human detrious found in the bilges of 17/18 century slave ships view. It's an unfortunate turn of phrase at the best of times and doesn't really describe the first cup game of the season surely?

Ah, a fresh, clean and unsullied article.
A return to the broad sunlit uplands of proper Derby threadmanship.
How refreshing and uplifting.

It's a metaphor, something that your simple mind couldn't possibly understand.

Theyre both out tonight.
“Where is the line between creativity and insanity?”
It’s always just behind a Richard Keogh pass.
Sort of anticipated that...........
In’t ja606 great.
Coming away from PP on Saturday was depressing.
Having to listen to the moans and groans on Radio Derby. Then having to hear Frank explain the performance for probably the 4th time. He wasn’t happy, I think he sounded really down and I thought man up, man. The team are looking to you for leadership.
But a day or two have passed and having read the good stuff written on here my mood has changed to one of support for our unsettled team.
We missed key players and we played an in form team. That’s all it was and it will not define our season.
It’s a tough lesson but one better learned on match day two than forty two.
As for Frank I was wrong for thinking he should man up. He couldn’t hide his emotions, the hurt and anger were there. The “stop asking me the same bone questions” was there.
But the biggest thing I took from the interviews was the steadfast belief that he will do everything in his power to not let it happen again.
I expect a reaction, I expect a comfortable win and I’m sure Frank and his boys will deliver tomorrow.
I can’t wait for kickoff and it’s just a league cup game.

When did Richard Keogh make a pass at you? I never knew he had a proclivity for fat ugly middle aged blokes.
I doubt Keogh could make a pass at anyone (he was aiming for anyway)
Some mythology being created here. Keogh isn't bad at distribution, better than Pearce, Shackell, Davies and many others we have had as central defenders. He just isn't good enough to do the job in the absence of a DM. As Ledley is ball and running averse unfortunately the mantle of playing the ball out of defence has been left to Keogh. However I am certain many of you will dismiss this as it doesn't fit with your narrative.
Good stuff Spart.
However. Can we please Raise the Bar by having a thread, just one, without resorting to The Keogh Debate.
Been done to (multiple deaths) - and Frank will either keep him, or not. In either case, matter then closed.
Autumn migration is well under way
I’ll be going, since you ask. I feel I need to see as much as I can of our new team and manager to try to get a clue as to how we are likely to get on this season.
I watched a bit of the under 23s on the Rams Player earlier. Thorne and Martin actually looked reasonably fit, I imagine to convince somebody they are worth taking on loan. Sibley really caught the eye again. He looks like he could be a real talent. Yoozee stylee.
Fond memories of Boundary Park by the way. Simmo’s penalty in 1987.
I’m still drunk đľ which is nice
Where oldham promoted , handy 3 pints then.
Agree about Sibley, Vidal. He looked very good, didn't he?
Is he really only 16, as they said ? Didn't think he was quite that young.
Chrissy did what Chrissy does. Some clever lay-offs and would have scored at the end, if not for a super save.
GT played the whole 95 minutes and got better as the game went on, I thought.
For the attention of Heb.
Kyle McAllister made an appearance as sub and looked lively
Sibley is a new one Vidal, care to share?
Ta Ang that will so, I’ll Suss him out better over time
And Kyle actually exists, happy days, nearly typed hour.
