Leeds are not in transition like us because they have exactly the same players as last season. That’s not an excuse, it’s a simple fact, and Lampard made no excuses at all for the defeat against Leeds so why pretend that he did? Fans need to be supportive, it’s abdolutely ridiculous to draw any conclusions about manager, team or individual players so early on. These are the sort of fans that were chanting “Smith out” after half a dozen games in 1996. Lampard is an intelligent chap and what is missing from the team will not have passed him by.
