I see the Baggie 'fans' have crept out of the woodwork again. Come back at the end of the season when you have got promotion, if of course you do get promotion !!

You've waited many years to say that. Fill yer boots, it won't last long.

Does anybody actually know why we keep being accused of delusion etc??

I don't understand why thinking tenth is very doable given our spend and the obvious quality we have and the fact teams have made top ten with 46 points the last two years is delusional?!?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s delusional because it shows you don’t understand the step up you have to make when coming into the premier league. Look back through the stats and tell me how many promoted teams get top 10 in their first season? Not many

The reason for that is because of the adjustment to an entirely different league, tempo and frankly a gulf in class. You should be targeting 40 points - yet because you’ve spent money you seem to think you’re going to walk into the top 10 on 50 points plus with no trouble

I’ve literally never heard fans of a newly promoted team talk like you guys are doing - it’s just hilarious.

I will be happy with 17th place, never said anything different. However, I did notice the gulf in class on Saturday but maybe one day you will have some class players, because frankly you were s**t but oh so lucky.

I’m not talking about Leicester City when I’m talking about a gulf in class. We’re a team under transition playing for a manager that frankly I believe will be sacked by October.

We were dreadful on Saturday, I was at the game, and a premier league standard team would have taken the 3 points. Had you taken your chances against us it would have been very different. Had you dealt with Albrightons cross property - it would have been different.

You’ll see the gulf in class I’m talking about next Saturday!

I don't think you'll find any Wolves fan whole will deny there is a gulf in class between us and Man City.

There was no gulf in class between us and both Leicester or Everton; which is about where we want to aim this season. If anything, we were much the better team on Saturday.

I fail to see your point really. Leicester got lucky and on another day, we would have scored two or three. Doherty's OG was a freak occurrence, not really something to gauge us on.

Before the red card Everton were totally comfortable and in control. You offered no threat at all and were passing the ball backwards. BT sport were laying into you such was the negativity of the performance.

Had it been 11 v 11 I don’t think wolves would have got anything from that game and I saw a gulf in class between you and Everton. They will finish miles ahead of you this season. The red card changed everything in that game for me.

Against us your finishing was hopeless, I’m not talking about the Moutinho or Jiminez shots which were both outside the box, but the clear chances you created inside the box.

The own goal was caused by not closing down Albrighton properly and not dealing with the cross, albeit it was a good one

The point I’m making is that you seem to think you’re on a par with teams who are regularly in the top 10. It smacks of incredible arrogance and if I’m honest it’s very naive. You’ve played 2 games against teams you believe you are on a par with and got 1 point. You haven’t exactly taken the PL by storm yet and next weeks result could give your confidence a battering at the wrong time

The best thing for wolves would be to get to the 40 point mark - that’s realistically where you are. You’re not a top 10 side

Well I guess the table will tell us all we need to know at the end of the season.

Good luck for the rest of it. Based on Staurday it looks like you will be needing it to get to the 'top 10' yourself if it is so unreachable for us.

This is a silly argument really. I'm sure 90% of Wolves fans would take 17th if offered it now, I would.

That said I do think we are a better proposition than many sides promoted to the Premier League in the last few years. I would not be surprised if we finished somewhere in the 12th to 8th slot.

I think that is the position of most Wolves fans. Apparently that makes us arrogant and naïve though, according to the Leicester fans who think they are infallible in that 8th to 12th region.

Strangely enougn, working in Manchester, I'm subjected to City fans telling me we'll get a footballing lesson off them this saturday & I've got United fans saying we're a better team to watch than them & we'll finish above them - what you have to do with any opinion is to take the BROADEST cross section & use that as your yardstick, meaning if you speak to a MAJORITY of wolves fans the hope is safety first & build from there. you also shouldn't take the pi$$ when singing cos we'll get you on that one

I loved the bit where he played the ball out for a Leicester goal kick!

Not sure why you are using Leicester as any kind of benchmark on your own performance. We were in relegation form at the end of last season having won 5 games out of the last 21. And that was with Mahrez

I’ve never at any point tried to make out we’re a great team who played really well. We could go down this season - that’s how I see Leicester

The point I’m trying to make is that talk of a top 10 finish for wolves is naive and arrogant. That’s how some of your fans see it. From the two games I’ve seen this season, you haven’t been that impressive at all

posted on 20/8/18

I said before the season started that we could play well in our first three games and end up with no points. I also predicted we would finish 9th. Seen nothing so far to make me want to change those opinions other than we have 1 point not 0

It’s because of the arrogance basically. I’ve literally never seen a promoted team, other than Newcastle, talk about anything other than staying up. Let’s hope Nuno isn’t as naive as some of you lot

Most Wolves fans have said they would take 17th, but think we should aim to push for higher. There is no arrogance, except from other Premier League clubs concerned about their own status quo.

That’s now how it comes across at all. We heard wolves fans last season saying their side, as it was, could sit comfortably mid table if they were in the PL.

What comes across from wolves fans is that top 10 is a given and they take no account for having to make an adjustment to playing at this level - because they’re the Man City of the championship

We won the league with 102 points I believe when we got promoted and no Leicester fans were talking about walking into the top 10.

posted on 20/8/18

That’s why you’re starting to get the wums on here and why you’ll get battered on this forum if you now don’t get that top 10 finish or if you look in danger. It’s the arrogance people can’t stand - you’ve had it ever since last year

No one ha said top 10 is a given. That's what you keep telling us we have said, but no one has actually said it.

Most Wolves fans think we should stay up comfortably with the squad we have. We have owners who want the top 10 to be the target this year. Most Wolves fans don't see that as unachievable like Leicester fans seem to, but don't think it is a given. That is the extent of it.

It is pointless discussing with you though as you just make up the opposing argument in your head each time.
