bitter Arsenal fans

nick my assessment is this, we dominated Arsenal for 75 mins, we letg them back in with 15 mins of madness that could have cost us the game but they werent in the game second half

i think we look fantastic going forward

really positive signs

think pedro will get our golden boot this season, tailor made for him this formation

arsenal for me look poor cant really see what has changed with them still very weak in the midfield

TBF great game for the neutral, shocking if you're either a Chelsea or an Arsenal fan. Neither side able to defend. Both will struggle to make top 4 if they can't sort out that defence.

Great game to watch as a neutral, Arsenal with some shocking misses, but Cech also played his part in keeping the score down.

Thought Chelsea deserved it.

Difference for me was that we sorted it out second half. Azpi didn't push up as much, kovacic came on and dropped and collected the ball a lot more leaving jorgino and kante to stay back further.

Was a great game, Arsenal chasing shadows for first 20 minutes was some of the best footy i've seen in a while.

kovacic had a 98% passing accuaracy and we had 720 passes, must be the most this chelsea team have had against a top team in years.

How can Alonso concede that many chances yet get an 8 rating?

Half Arsenal's gameplan was just to get the ball down the right and pick out an easy pass/cross because nobody is defending you.

Kovacic is decent. Be interesting to see if Chelsea pursue a permanent deal at the end of the loan deal. Just needs to add that extra bit of attacking end product to his game. Jorginho is class as well. Dominated our midfield for most of the game.

Aye it was an odd game. Both sides could have won it but i don't begrudge Chelsea the 3 points. Controlled most of the game.

Arsenal are very much work in progress. Emery has a lot of work to do with this defense. We've got a run of 6 winnable games so i hope we can improve the performance as well pick up points.

Assist and a goal probably got him the high rating tbf.

Peebs let it go m8, it’s better to forget things and look to the future

Can't a agree with the Alonso rating, The goal and assist cover up a horrible performance. 6 at the highest, would've been a 3 without the goal.

Like I say his lack of pace is an issue but if you watch the game again you can see he is totally isolated in a 2 on 1 situation. Especially when pedro swapped wings with willian(around the half hour mark) during the first half so I cut him some slack for that.

Second half he was our best defender by quite some distance. He made a defensive header at the far post from a arsenal free kick against about 3 arsenal players(for some reason it was hazard at the back post marking there big boys)that was fantastic defending.

BTW alonso got 8 on most papers, and 8.7 on whoscored.

Alonso was often outnumbered by the opposition players in the defense, Barkley offers very little defensive cover, that aspect of his game needs to improve. and Kanté was unusually poor defensively, often caught high up the pitch to help Azpi. Things improved in the 2nd half though both Kanté and Kovacic dropped deep to protect both full backs. I thought Alonso played well yesterday. He’s such threat when marauding forward

You can have a crap game defensively on whoscored and get a good rating. Its a shocking way to determine the quality of a defender.

If you say so, but you've got me who went, the papers, and whoscored. And i've also stated how he was left isolated as has doh boy. Just answering your query although I feel his lack of pace will be an issue.

Starting to have second thoughts about Rudi and Luiz as a partnership to be honest !

Which papers? The only one I saw him get an 8 in is the express.
