I’m not willing to get into this until after the trials have finished.

“Please, if you hope to see the Hillsborough families gain any justice do not go off on one. I know it's hard but lawyers are watching and will use any comments that could influence a jury as a reason to get future trials shut down.” Brian Reade.

Haven’t the hillsborough support group said themselves this was the wrong charge as well?

Very hard to prove what he was accused of
---
Not really. The accusations were clear. It was the evidence to support it that was hard to prove.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a way to twist something into meaning the exact same thing
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Wrong - differentiate between accusation and evidence
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Very hard to prove what he's been accused of.

How do you do that? With evidence obviously. Which is how you prove it. Goes hand in hand.

I fear Hillsborough will go the same way as the financial crash. No rich `elites’ will ever be convicted; they have too much money and too many clever lawyers.

Who should have been convicted for the financial crash out of interest?

These people deserve justice and it looks like one of those at least partially responsible for the smear campaign against LFC supporters has got away with it.

------

He's hardly "got away with it." This suggests a lack of sufficient evidence for a conviction:

"Prosecutors said insufficient evidence meant there was no real prospect of securing a conviction.

The Crown Prosecution Service said because of changes in the evidence of two witnesses, and the death of a third, it would discontinue the case."

Our courts can't go convicting people on a whim without evidence. That's not justice and justice works both ways, not just in the favour of those who feel the most aggrieved or shout the loudest.

Unsafe convictions lead to dangerous precedents and miscarriages of justice further down the line.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely spot on and seems to be forgotten about in the new world of social media justice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye, people on Twitter saying it’s a cover up, disgrace etc, one witness is unreliable and the other has died, we can’t start prosecuting people with insufficient evidence because it’s an emotive subject and some people WANT him to be guilty.

Lack of evidence doesn't mean he is innocent.

-

Doesn't mean he is guilty either and we presume innocence, not guilt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets assume he is guilty, has justice been served then? In the legal sense yes, but I would get it if people feel hard done by.

Why would they feel hard done by? They dont know what he is guilty of do they?

Thats why we have a justice system.

Trials are not dictated by a general public with a lack of information.

Yep, the amount of bonuses awarded in the wake of the 2008 financial crash was around $20 billion after the banks were bailed out to a tune of $700 billion in the US and a cool £850 billion here in the UK.

Let's flip it and assume he was innocent all along.

How would you feel to be in the public eye for so long with the unproven accusations against you, constantly being in the news and you were innocent after all

Iceland, because they investigated pursued bank bosses, chief executives, civil servants and corporate raiders for crimes ranging from insider trading to fraud, money laundering, misleading markets, breach of duties and lying to the authorities along with market manipulation, money-laundering and mis-selling mortgages.

Jailed at least 26.

The rest of the world barely looked at it let alone investigate and charge.

Now it's possible that the only shyster financiers were based in Iceland but I doubt it.

OK so there's nothing specific. What kind of fraud, how was this fraud conducted.

Basically you don't have a facking clue how the financial crash came about but rich people as they are always wrong should go to prison. Isn't that basically how you feel?

Five went to prison in the UK for conspiracy to defraud, in Iceland it was 36,and in the US the reports vary, but around 200 people were charged.

It’s a myth that no one was prosecuted for the 2008 finical crash.

We should have prosecuted a lot more, the problem was down to it’s a hard thing to prove in a court of law as much as anything. Just as galling was the fact some continues to get rewarded.
