As Darren Dein is now his agent, this will happen.
All we need......didn't realise the boy Dein was his agent.
You couldn't really blame him tbh - he's seen Fabregas and Nasri leave and not seen them replaced with anyone of they quality.
I hope this does happen. Where was he against Blackburn? Our captain, leader?
We have to sell him. There are better strikers out there would offer us more and cause defenders more problems! Van persie hardly troubled samba or dann
If I were him unless there are major changes then I'd want out as well. Wenger and his backroom staff, Directors, Owners and players we're in such a f6cking mess.
We need David Dein back to tell his Son to feck right off!!
Van persie has never scored 20 + league goals in the premiership. Adebayor has.
He's been here for 8 years it's best we let him go
Would it be that big a loss? He's rarely prolific, he's rarely fit and he's not a leader despite being your captain
I do agree slightly with John.
There are better strikers out there who would spend more time on the pitch for us. Maybe its time to say goodbye?
Van persie he just doesn't cause CBs problems. He hasn't got pace or dribbling ability and isn't really physical
Torres may have missed chances but his general play was fantastic we need that sort of striker
Rather than a totti type ala RVP
"Would it be that big a loss?"
A huge loss.
"He's rarely prolific..."
But incredibly gifted.
"..he's rarely fit..."
This wouldn't be such an issue if only we'd had a decent back up for him this past few seasons.
"..and he's not a leader despite being your captain"
Wenger's fault for giving him the armband, not his.
Let's sell Van Persie! Rhys Murphy will score 70 goals a season for us!
Where you calling for his head when he was single-handedly scoring virtually all our goals towards the end of last season? Be careful what you wish for.
And if we do sell him which top striker is actually going to want to join us?
chrisdgooner
Exactly.
If RVP goes, he won't be the last.
Vermaelen will be next and then the vultures will swoop and pick off the last meat on the club's bones... Wilshere, Sagna and Szczesny.
It's all very well saying RvP will want out but he's just as bad as the rest and should at his performance too. It's up to him and the rest to get out of this position - they've all got themselves to blame.
Yeah you'll see I've written he'll be next out the door. Not once in my article (2 lines long) have I said we should sell him.
Fans who think we should sell him are beyond a joke. He's a gifted player who should play just off a prolific striker (If Wenger ever buys one).
But my opinion is that he will demand a move away.
Agreed Lex.
People can say what they want about RVP but he does strike me as a guy who really cares about the club.....if he was to leave then I reckon that it would have a domino effect where our remaining good/decent players would all follow. We've been in transition it seems for years and now the transition is in danger of just becoming an exodus.
No stage was I stating that you were asking for RVP to sold Emibury.....knew exactly what you were saying mate.
Agree with you 100% that RVP should be playing off a quality striker.
There are better strikers out there who would spend more time on the pitch for us. Maybe its time to say goodbye?

okay, let's say for argument's sake that we need a better striker. first, let's look at the premier league. now, the best striker in the league is, most would agree, rooney - so let's start with him as a jumping off point. in the seven years he's been at united, rooney has averaged 0.47 goals per game. that's 156 goals in 329 games. van persie has played 234 and scored 98 in the seven years he's been at arsenal. he's played 95 less games and scored 58 less goals than rooney. his goals per game average is 0.41. so the fact is that he still does pretty well and holds his own when compared to the league's best striker.
then you look at a european player - villa, for example. at barcelona, villa has scored 27 in 57. his goals per game average for barcelona - the team that creates more goalscoring chances than any other - is the same as rooney's, 0.47. again, van persie shows that he isn't far off the most naturally gifted goal-poacher in europe.
so really, i don't agree that there are many out there who could a) improve on van persie and b) be within our reach, with the problems that we have. i agree with the idea that we need another player to come in and help ease the burden a little, though. but why some people feel the need to replace van persie outright is beyond me.
Van persie has never scored 20 + league goals in the premiership. Adebayor has.
==========
only once, john. in 07/08 adebayor scored 30 goals overall; in all the other seasons he was at the club, he was outscored by, you guessed it, van persie.
Well we at least need a striker who can play the best part of 3 quarters of the season and score regularly then.
Adebayor scored more goals than Van persie in his first 4 years.
He scored 24 goals in the PL.
Van persie has only managed a high of 18 in 8 years!
Early days yet. Season's just started. Both Liverpool and Spurs have shown they are not miles ahead. Once the defence gets used to each other I'm confident
Adebayor scored more goals than Van persie in his first 4 years.
==========
let's discount adebayor's first arrival, as he only played half a season and only got 13 appearances overall.
but for the next three full years that he was at the club, adebayor only outscored van persie once:
06/07: adebayor 12 goals in 44 games, van persie 13 in 31
07/08: adebayor 30 in 48, van persie 9 in 23
08/09: adebayor 16 in 38, van persie 20 in 44
so despite adebayor's 30-goal season in 2008, his goals per game average was only slightly above van persie's: 0.44 to van persie's 0.43. and he managed more goals than van persie in one of those seasons.
but... facts mean nothing to you, do they john? i'm guessing that now that nasri's gone you're just looking for another target for your illogical hate.
