Why only 3 seasons?

Why not 5, 6, 10?

2nd place in the 3 season league table for cherry picked clubs.

Well done, something for the trophy room...

Cant see past City tbh. Depends whether Poch throws the cups again because if any of those teams go deep into a couple of competitions its going to be tough in the league at the business end.

5, 6 or 10

think OP is highlighting Spurs slow progression. It is on the Spurs board after all.

We have done great over the past few years with a net spend of sub 30mln..... Poch (NOT LEVY) deserves a massive amount of credit for that but the reality is without strengthening the squad this season will end up like the last few. Sure, the first 11 is great and we are finally getting some better Back ups.... Lamela, Moura/Son, Aurier, Sanchez (now Toby is back starting) BUT its criminal we were not able to get rid of the likes of Sissoko, Llorente, KGN, Janssen and bring in at least one quality addition (Esp for CM) as the above offer us nothing. Its why the likes of Kane, Eriksen, Dele, Dier, Dembele play too many games and have all suffered re-occurring injuries or dips in form. Id rather have a few less points in the table you highlight & a couple of trophies

Cos the relevance of United's 08/09 season with Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo up front has no bearing on present day whereas the last 3 years is a better indication of consistency of the current squad?

Good article OP.Facts like your article are finally coming out to why I personally think Spurs will win the title this season. Spending lots like some clubs did pre season, is absolutely no guarantee of success. Spurs have built a fantastic side on a shoestring, and I think this season the trophies will start to roll in at long last.

You'll win the title because you came second in some random made up metric?

Because the OP wants to put up just 3. If you want to put up an article on 5,6 10 then feel free to do so.

Because the last 3 seasons have seen us making some progress, I won’t go any further back as our team was different then.

Juande Ramos is spurs most successful manager of recent years

Yeah sure, and Kenny in his second spell has been more successful than Klopp.

Either way it is bizarre. Like when people do most points in a calendar year and such.
Chelsea finished 10th in one of those seasons due to some random circumstances. I would not use that on how to judge the coming year. Well we won the league the year after so we couldn't even use it to judge the following year.

But you are right it does show spurs have been good last few years.

Would you be happy then if he came back for a third spell if things didn't go to plan for Klopp?

They brought it up on MNF last night which I guess was the trigger for this article. They felt it relevant. It's a good indicator of our consistency and was used to back up why we should be considered for the title.

They did a similar thing with Liverpool last week with their defence since the 4-1 loss at Spurs.

Wind you neck in.

Not for him no. Modern game has changed and also a lot of people dont have enough respect for a) what he achieved in the game b) what he did outside of football and the kind of man he is. Enjoy your retirement Kenny!

Fact remains though, just as it does with Ramos.

Yeh, but they are pulling it down, to build a bigger one, that is why there is a delay on the Stadium.
