No allardyce, no pulis, and soon to be no mourinho. Looks like a more attacking philosophy is back in. The genuine world class centre backs are also hard to come by now.
Alder, Vert, VVD, Azpi(although a full back) are the only defenders genuinely world class at defensive duties imo.

It has and always will be a football league.
The giveaway is all the teams in the league play football!
glad to be of help

What can you tell me about the County Championship Division One?
There has been more of a demand in recent years from fans for their teams to play 'nice football' than get results.
I also think the emergence of clubs risking and succeeding with foreign 'project based' managers (Saints - Poch, Hull - Silva, Hudders - Wagner, Swansea - Rodgers even though he isn't foreign) rather than the likes of your Redknapps, Pardews, Moyes, Warnocks on an endless managerial cycle has caused this style change.
Its hard to defend well in the prem. If you compare a run of the mill La liga game to a run of the mill prem game they are poles apart in terms of what the teams do attacking wise.
English games, whether its a top side or a mid tbale side don't go for as much control and creation of "real chances" but go more direct running, high press to force errors, quick attacks, crosses etc.
There's just a lot more back and forth play, teams play fast but don't cover any more ground so its about the ball moving fast.
The only difference between a Pulis approach where 0-0 is acheived by sitting 10 behind ball and hoping for a set piece somewhere to get a goal and a mourinho approach is how much the ball is lumped.
both are negative in terms of what the fans get to see.
Mourinho is very frustrating for any non utd fan and half the utd fans as compared to the ferguson era if utd were on it they would get 3 or 4 goals and everyone abr those who didn't like utd go home happy.
Now its get a goal.. he gets up and stops them playing and they start sitting on the gaol looking maybe for a break away with 2 or max 3 players. Its desperately dull.
If he'd just trust the players they would be better.

Still have to get rid of:
Rafa
Mourinho
Warnock
Dyche is also pretty dull but he will say he hasn't had any choice (true to a degree).

Technically that isn't an acronym.
I always thought it more of a cricketing league
I think most managers if given the choice prefer to play attacking football. One notable exception being Mourinho.
It could be as simple as saying most clubs have better players now due to the TV deal. If a manager wants to play football on the deck he generally can, instead of trying, realising Charlie Adam and Lee Cattermole are never going to produce tiki-taka and begrudgingly resorting to hoof ball.
Mourinho is the exception because he seems to actively enjoy sucking the life out of the opposition and scraping 1-0 wins using 6 foot 2 lumberjacks who aren’t in control of their feet.
I think there is more expectancy to play good football now that owners are forking out upwards of £100m every window... If you were an owner and funding these players youd want to see something in return besides just results.
Guardiola and Poch have set the bar IMO... both have came in and done exceptional jobs in their own right and others have to adapt to this.
It’s just cyclical, some new coach will find a new way of getting 11 players to play that catches everyone out and then everyone copies it for a few years
Then rinse and repeat

This is so true.
Everybody copying the Conte 3-5-2 was a good recent example of this.
I have to say that, to suggest my team/manager/squad played an ultra-attacking game against Brighton on Saturday, then I must have been watching another game.
